I would ensure via flightstats, in the first instance, that you have confirmation that your flight was a 'one off' as the last thing you want is to find your flight was one of 100's of delays experienced due to the bomb scare.
It does not appear to be a one off - 22 flights scheduled to depart BRS between 06:00 and 08:00 that morning - only one not showing "delayed" (it left half an hour late but made up some time)0 -
The engine problem that occurred had happened on other Dreamliner aircraft previously. So how can it be an extraordinary event. Have you had any success in claiming?0

It took just 4 working days from contacting the CAA to getting a yes from Thompson having refused my claim back in March, The NWNF co got no where and surprisingly agreed they would not be charging any fees! Thompson have confirmed a chq for £844.96 will be with me with in 28 days.
So any one refused by any airline contact the CAA wish i had gone down that route first of all, but we learn by our mistakes.:j
Well done, it's nice to get the full amount of compensation. I was on that same flight.
I received an email yesterday from my NWNF solicitor telling me my money was being processed and would be in my bank within the next few days. So, finally, success!
They attached a breakdown of their costs, some of which I have to pay (per the initial agreement), and additional costs they recovered from Thomson who they had to take to court.
Why on earth Thomson insist on going all the way to court to deny responsibility I don't know, it just means they end up having to pay up more money.0 -
Hi Guys.
Received a Defence from Thomsons this morning in regard to our MCOL, they are asking for Booking Reference and Flight number, do we just send a dated letter with all the information on as our MCOL N1 form didnt have this on. Can we just send it to the address stated at Thomsons Luton address? or do we have to inform the court with anything ?
Also they have written in in a court type document layout, do i have to do this, or will a standard letter do?
Thanks0 -
Have you looked at your MCOL to see if they have submitted to the court there and sent you a paper copy?0
-
How do you do that, I used the paper N1 form to open the claim so dont have an online login ? I received a paper letter from Thomsons too.
Thanks0 -
Ah OK - not a true MCOL then ( Money Claim online ).0

Anyone else have an idea of if a standard letter (returned to Luton address) will do which includes the flight number and booking reference as per my original post above or do I need to contact the courts or send it in a particular format like they have sent me ie in a legal court type of layout...Me VS Them etc?
Thanks0 -
Scorpio - reference your letter of reply in same format ie you -v- Thomson and also copy to the court using the court reference. Send original to Thomson with copy to court remembering of course to retain copy for yourself.
All assumes you received acknowledgement from court so you have their reference as well.0 -
What court would I send it too as we haven't allocated one yet, do we send it to the Salford address we sent the N1 form too ?
Do i copy the layout word for word exchanging the sections which apply for me IE defendant > Claimant
Do I have to send to both Recorded delivery ?
Thanks0
