Yes, I can confirm all costs get added to the outstanding amount. You would typically have to pay £60 For enforcement but the attendance costs by the Sherrifs can run into hundreds, but it's all paid for by the airlines because it's simply added to the amount outstanding..

If for any reason the outstanding amount was unrecoverable (highly unlikely) you would lose the £60 fee...

Of course, JackieBear's award needs to be over £600 to be transferred to the HCEO. Otherwise it's just the bailiffs, who are rather less effective.

Yes and my own personal experience of sending in the County Court bailiffs would echo that in fact. (Not flight delay related) I would say the CC Bailiffs are as effective as The CAA !

Well I hope that it will now be unnecessary as I just received a telephone call from home to say that we received a letter this morning:

As per the court order dated XXXX ( for the 2nd time) we have contacted our client for the sum of XXXX and once we are in receipt of the funds we will pass them on to you.

Yet again I won't count my chickens until I have the cheque, but it's another step forward.:)

Cheers Novice , I'm the exact opposite actually and a BIG glass half full person when I'm in my comfort zone. Since this all started I have never felt in control of things and many false dawns over the last 2 years. Being out of my depth causes the pessimism. And it's only thanks to the good people on here that stopped me chucking many times. I have found it a great support both legally and a crutch emotionally when I needed to go Aaaaarrrgghh! Most of the people will never know that there random words, posts and optimism drive others on. So a big thanks everyone :T
  • At the moment I'm rejecting TCs "Full and Final Settlement" in vouchers for the monetary value of my €uro claim for acknowledged Flight Delay after reading this in Telegraph Travel --
A spokesman for Thomas Cook Airlines admitted it sent vouchers to some customers "unless they specified they wanted cash".
"If the customer requests cash during the process, or would rather have cash after we have offered vouchers, we exchange this for cash, so it is always ultimately with the customers' agreement,"
    he said.

I am trying to be as reasonable as I can and not go down the Legal Route

(Without me going through the last 350 pages) -- has anyone first hand knowledge of claims being paid out in cash over vouchers, either straight up or after a voucher rejection ?

Without going through the last 350 pages or so you can just use the search facility for 'vouchers' and it will surprise you how many time that question has been asked.

You don't need to look very far back to find this addressed (many times).

Just tell them you want cash and they will give you cash, no problem - other than the month or so you have to wait for the cash to appear.

Just 15 posts above yours my signature contains the answer.
It's been asked so many times that people are now being put off from reading the threads.
If people could just read a little bit of the 350 pages it will definitely come up, it's the most asked question ever.
  • I sent them an email eleven days ago asking for their £620 worth of vouchers they had sent me as compensation to be paid in cash instead - so far I have heard nothing back so think I'm going to need to chase them on this
