But whilst the order is active Jackie, surely it would be more fun to get the Sheriffs involved?0

Yeah, you might even get your 15 minutes of fame on the BBC1 programme the Sherrifs are coming , In fact they walked into Thomas Cook the other day and achieved payment in full for a flight delay passenger, I'll have a look for the link and come back and post it...
Cheers,

Definitely get the sheriffs by getting the writ transferred to the High Court: the normal bailiffs have few powers. Surely you'd like an airplane?0

Hi all
Just an update, after posting my message here I rang TC the following day (Monday 16th) requesting an update and was told I would be pushed up the queue.
I've checked emails tonight and have one admitting fault and offering me £880 in vouchers!!!!
Very chuffed they've admitted responsibility a year after saying it wasn't their faults and shall now ask them for cash instead
Thanks all!x0 -
Myself and my GF were delayed by 6 hours going to Barbados from Manchester in November. Initially raised the complaint through the TC website, and had some mumblings from them. Nothing heard back in earnest and at the end of January passed our details onto Bott and Co. Just over a week ago we received £620 back between us :rotfl: Yes, they took their chunk but was entirely hassle free and we got back money that we were not counting on. :beer:0

My understanding is that their costs get added to the airline's "bill" - but you should discuss this with the HCEO before commissioning them. Will be easy money for them, I reckon ...0 -

Yes, I can confirm all costs get added to the outstanding amount. You would typically have to pay £60 For enforcement but the attendance costs by the Sherrifs can run into hundreds, but it's all paid for by the airlines because it's simply added to the amount outstanding..
If for any reason the outstanding amount was unrecoverable (highly unlikely) you would lose the £60 fee... And have to pay £75+vat for any visit that the sheriffs made on your behalf.

Success!
Filed complaint June.
Waited for case to be heard, chased again November.
Heard nothing, sent NBA 23rd December
Got all papers ready for court, the same day I was sending off, got an email to say I was getting a voucher for £610 (3 hour 58 min delay Man-Dalaman 11th May 2009).
Rang Monday to say I didn't want the voucher and wanted a bank transfer instead, it's now Friday (only 4 days later), and money has just gone in.
Off to book another holiday!0 -
