Hi I am starting a claim for a flight delay of 4-5 hours and wanting to check the exact arrival time as suggested on flightstats but cannot find on their website where flight arrival times are. Can anyone help me

You need to go to flight status section on right hand side and enter the flight info in and it will tell you the arrival time.
  • Hi there

Following on from yesterdays post, I got a rejection from Thomas Cook in relation to my outbound flight (technical, extraordnary etc) , with no mention of the inbound flight which was also 3 hours 10 minutes delayed. Anyway I questioned this and today I have been offered compensation in the form of a Thomas Cook voucher equalling £340 for each passenger! I don't want to come across as ungrateful but I don't really want to book with Thomas Cook again, can I ask for a cash settlement or will they tell me where to go???

    Thanks again

  • Thanks for the info re Flightstats got info I wanted 4 1/2 hours late ready to start my claim
  • I have received defence papers from TC today and would appreciate the learned opinions of this forum's members.

Item 4 says "...the defendant puts the claimant to strict proof with respect to payment of the applicable fares..." - does this mean they want me to prove I paid for and/or was on the flight?

Items 7 & 8 says "...extraordinary circumstances...caused by the aircraft experiencing a reactionary fault when landing at STN...left engine #6 fan blade had a nick...engineers were dispatched...blending and non-destructive testing was carried out...the aircraft was then declared serviceable by the engineers...". Summary - the delay falls under "unexpected flight safety shortcomings".

I need to decide whether to stick or twist. Any opinions on whether engine blade #6's nick = unexpected flight safety shortcomings (or if this is a technical fault, so cannot be deemed extraordinary) would be most welcomed.

I sooo want to request judgement but don't want to bash my head against (another) brick wall.

Calers: You can't "request judgement" if the papers are now in. The next stage is to complete the "allocation questionnaire" that will put the claim on the small claims track and, hopefully, transfer it to your local court. Then you will be advised of a hearing date - probably in about 12 weeks time.

Refund for the flight or the 600 Euros each?
Hi we got the £510 per person back.
  • Thanks Vauban. I mean I still want to put up a fight and understand it's the questionnaire next.

    Any thoughts on their explanation?
  • Hi we have been offered a voucher from TC for £670.00 for two people having a 12 hour delay from Tenerife to Gatwick, how can we check this is correct amount?

You could read the original MSE article, that gives you the breakdown. But yes: that's the right amount at 400 euros each. Though you can insist on the ash if you prefer (who wouldn't?)
