If you use the search facility on this forum for CAA and read a few of the posts that come up you will probably get the impression that contacting the CAA is not even worth the wear and tear on your keyboard

Did you mention EU261/2004 when you contacted them? You probably want to rewrite using the template letter in the FAQs

Success! Thomas cook have given us a full refund for our outbound flight to cancun on 27th June from Manchester to cancun!!!! Been fighting from July 2013! Don't give up! still fighting for the return flight TCX163!!! Keep you posted!

I was offered voucher but requested the cash and its fine!

Refund for the flight or the 600 Euros each?

HI all
I was delayed for over 10 hours on this flight in April 2013.
I have been awarded compensation in full yesterday. Anyone else who may have not submitted a claim, or have not chased this up will also be entitled to this as the airline has admitted responsibility.

I have been offered a voucher for £672.00 as a full and final settlement for 2 persons for a flight from Dalaman to Birmingham with a delay of 22 hours. I will be rejecting the offer as I think I will be entitled the maximum of 1200 euros( this was what I claimed for originally) I will also be requesting the settlement in cash. The voucher I received has to be used by Jan 2015. Any advice before I sent the email please?

Shazz - you are entitled to 400 Euros each, not 600. Dalaman to Birmingham is just under 3000km. But you can certainly insist on the cash - just write them a short email or give them a call.
