Then when it was time to sing 'aud land sein' (sp?) !

Auld Lang Syne-'old long ago' meaning for old time's sake... :D
why be a song, when you can be a symphony?

Did we get an update from the OP? I started to read this on the first day and I've just returned and we are now on page 19 and I haven't time to read it all.

I'm very glad it worked out for you- I agree you should go out with her in a big group, this will give you a chance to see how she interacts with other people, and judge for yourself whether she is sending flirty texts to everyone- and even if she isn't any threat, then it's a great chance to be seen looking fabulous by your dh- having a BBQ isn't much of an excuse to dress up;)

How? She's told him she doesn't feel comfortable with it. That should be enough for it to stop imo. So if he continues with it, how does someone knock it on the head?

Taken his phone off him, got him to change his number and not give the new one to her, told him you weren't happy and ask him to stop, made it clear to the woman you weren't happy. Theres all kinds of ways you can stop it.

    Well this is what happened.
Before the bbq had started, i was at the sink washing up and I just started to quietly cry :o ,

You know what you could do the next time it comes round, either invite the most hunkiest, FIT, tanned male you can round, and introduce him as your friend (like someone suggested) ;) OR failing that fill your kids full of E numbers just prior to the time she turns up so that they're firing on ALL cylinders and bouncing off eveything and arguing and fighting........................then greet her, sit her down outside, give the kids ONE of the toys they've wanted for ages, between them so they BOTH want to play with it..................then turn to your OH and say "ohhhhhh you know what................I forgot to pick up some marshmallows to toast, won't be long" :D

Then take as long as you can finding them, cos they are tough to locate during BBQ season ;)

By the time you get back OH will be stressed doing all the cooking and seperating the kids, while she's sat there thinking  "OMG I'm never going to get with him and have to put up with those dreadful kids!!!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hello all! I can't believe all the treads on this subject, taking me over an hour to read them all!

    Well this is what happened.
Before the bbq had started, i was at the sink washing up and I just started to quietly cry :o , my hubby came up behind me and gave me a hug, then I started to bawl lol, he didn't know what was wrong, so I told him, he was shocked that it had affected me so badly and he was really sorry. He sad he had no interest in her in that way at all, and he had invited her so I could see that she was just a normal mate. In fact she doesn't have many friends and she never has much too do at the weekend, and he felt a bit sorry for her. So he cancelled the bbq, I didn't ask him too. Then I felt really bad, I felt like a right prat, and I felt sorry for her as it got cancelled at the last minute. So I said maybe she could come round some other day. I do wish she had come round now, just so I could see what she was like.
I can't say I am 100% happy on this situation now but I do feel a lot more secure in my marriage. I think I may of over reacted a bit but I can't help how I felt at the time. It will still be very odd when I do meet her, and I will have my eyes peeled. If I see nothing that worries me I will be happy for them to be friends, if I see something I don't like, well I'm not sure.
Anyway, thankyou all for your input, I can't believe the response!
    Thanks
    Kerry

I haven't read the whole thread (sorry too long!) but Savvy - I like your thinking, lol!
