EGG - PPI Claim upheld but still no cheque!

Hi
I successfully had my claim for PPI on an Egg loan upheld at the beginning of September. I've filled in the acceptance form agreeing to the amount that will be paid to me (on 7th Sept) and still I have no cheque. Egg PPI Loans are now handled by Citibank and the number is just an automated systems saying you will get your cheque within 15 days. Tried Citibank Financials, no one can help. Have written to the email address on the automated system, no reply. Is anyone else experiencing these difficulties? The cheque due to me is for a significant amount, so I'm definately not giving up!
Many thanks

Here's the MSE advice article on this topic.MSE_ADVICE_ARTICLE wrote:My bank agreed to refund PPI but I'm still waiting, can I speed things up?
Sadly this is a common, frustrating problem. Banks say it should be within 28 days, but it could be 8-12 weeks. You'll get interest on the payout up to the date it's issued though, so that's a minor consolation. If the delay's unreasonable, there's nothing to stop you contacting it to say you aren't happy, and asking for extra compensation for distress and inconvenience.0 -
Aw thanks very much for this, really appreciate you posting.. Sorry to hear I'm not alone in this awful customer service.
Thanks again0 -
I'm in exactly the same boat they received my acceptance on 3rd Sept but still no cheque and now I can't access my account in order to send secure mail x0

Hi.... I had the same problem EGG agreed the PPI settlement figure and advised I would have the cheque in 10-14 days - after 3 weeks I called them only to find the cheque had yet to be printed - it did turn up approximately 2 weeks after my call. I found they do not respond to emails they're delivered but never read/responded to - if you call the CRO Support number that's on the letter you can get through to them although this may involve long waits and annoying music while on hold!!!
Good luck and hope your cheques arrive soon.0 -
hi the phone number is not working and you will get answering machine in return and I'm in exactly the same boat they received my acceptance on 16rd August but still no cheque0

I was told i was getting a refund on my ppi but still havent recieved my acc form, that was aug have wrote to them asking for it, they do not have a number very furstrating0

I sent my docs back on 8th September and they confirmed the next week that they had been received and the cheque had been issued..but it had been sent for 'quality checking'.
I still have received nothing and the number on the letter (08007 834 393) now just goes to an automated voicemail (whichever of the options you chose - I have been through them all). I also sent an email to the address given, but nothing has come back.
I wonder if I will receive interest up until the date the sheque was supposedly issued or closer to the time I will actually get it sent to me!
Anyone else have any other numbers? Any I have found seem to no longer be in use...:mad:0 -
:mad:i think it takes time, i rang them 3 weeks ago (egg)they told me if i didnt hear aynthing in 10 days phone back , which i did phone now dead , they must have known the phones were going to stop, u just have to write to them and hope for the best.0

I called Yorkshire building society, who now deal with Egg mortgages etc, and a nice girl called Faye gave me the number for St Andrews Insurance (0845 6029101) who she hoped were dealing with PPI claims for Egg. So when I called that number and spoke to the very polite Gary, he advised they were just administering the claims and could not help and he advised to call Egg on 0845 600 0291.
But what a surprise, when I called that number, oh ok, the line was, yup, you guessed it - closed!
I am also awaiting my cheque from Egg, and have decided to bombard with an email every day until they get back to me or send out my cheque.
Is there a Money Saving Expert expert on here who can advise on this please?0
