My Egg PPI story:
Got a letter from Egg mid August telling me I may have been miss sold PPI and that I need to complain it I thought it was the case. I'd forgotten all about it because it was from around 2002/3 but filled out the complaint form and sent it back.
I got a letter back a couple of days later saying they had received my complaint and they would come back to me in four weeks. I got a reply in four weeks saying the complaint had been upheld and they would send me the cheque within 15 working days of them receiving the signed acceptance letter. I sent the acceptance letter back on the 11th September.
Couldn't check to see if they had received the letter because by then the phone contact details had been withdrawn, so waited until the 15 days had expired and didn't get the cheque.......
It's a bit difficult to follow up when there is nobody to speak to, so checked over my paperwork and did about 15 mins work on google until I found the email address of the main man dealing with the whole operation from Citibank.
I sent him an email not expecting to get a reply but to my surprise I got a reply within a couple of hours saying he would be back to me the following morning with an update.
The next morning I got an email from a lady saying she had my cheque and she would send it to me by special delivery. This was yesterday (Thursday) and the cheque arrived this morning and is now banked.
Happy ending........0 -

I am so glad t find that I am not the only person having all these problems. As most of you above I have spoken to Citibank, Barclays and the Yorkshire getting the same answers (of very friendly staff I may add) saying either that they don't know where to direct me to or giving me a phone number that only provides a recorded message (08007834393). And when emailing the given address I get read-receipts but no reply.
If they are not going to send the cheque within the 15 days why do they put information in their letters. And if they give an email address they should reply to the emails. If I would have been told from the start that it could take months for the cheque to come through I would have been happier than I am now.
Please could you give the email address of the lovely people that send you the cheque :-)
Thank you.0 -

Here is the main email address - cro.support@egg.com
I think they have a backlog at the mo as they are taking about 6 weeks to issue cheques. Don't panic, it will come eventually!0
