Hello,
Just looking for some advice... I got a letter offering myrefund on Egg Loans PPI. I send back to the signed acceptance form at the endof August – the latest they should have had it is Tuesday 4thSeptember. A cheque was promised in 10 to 15 working days – it has now passedthat and no cheque has arrived. I tried to call the 08007 834 393 number theyprovide, but no matter what combination of options you chose it is just arecorded message and you can’t actually speak to them.
Any advice on how to proceed? I guess I could write to themagain? Or does anyone have a different number for Egg customer service?
Any help gratefully received!!

I'm in the same boat Fi, still waiting for my cheque after 20 working days have passed. Did email Egg last week and didn't get a reply as they have changed all their website now so there is no longer any way of contacting the via email and I don't fancy spending hours on the phone waiting to speak to someone.
Maybe someone else on here who has had a cheque from Egg can let us know how long it took to get it back?

They take as long as they can!!!
I sent my acceptance on the 1st August, received my cheque on the 23rd September .
Also i was meant to have funds credited to my loan still running with Moorgate. I was told these were transferred on the 31st August but Moorgate havent received them so its vanished. Not sure what i can do now as like you say they have removed there email function which i was previously using.
Good Luck, try and be patient!0 -

I'm in the exact same position only my offer relates to an EGG credit card. Acceptance form was returned on 24.8.12. The 15 working days have now passed and nothing. Like you I tried calling the number on the letter "should I want to discuss the letter" and like you found it impossible to chat to an actual person!
One option was for lost/stolen cheques and it advised to email crt.pleaseassist@citi.com . So I did this yesterday, but no reply as yet. I vented my frustrations at not being able to get through to an actual person. I explained that I couldn't say for sure if a cheque was potentially lost or stolen until someone could confirm if it had been posted yet.
I'll let you know if I get any response!0 -
I'd give it another couple of weeks before chasing it up. Mine took about a month to arrive, not the 10-15 working days stated on the letter.0

Ours took a month0

i am in the same position. they got my letter on the 4th sept, told me there was a back log and last friday he said maybe another 2 weeks. tried calling today and no option given to talk to anyone.0

So in a way it's good to hear that it's not just me.
Now that I am well over my 15 working days, I think tomorrow, I'll draft a letter which will give them 2 weeks from the date of the letter to pay. If I do not have my PPI back within 2 weeks I will understand that to mean they are not prepared to pay me what they offered me, and I will happily escalate my complaint to the Financial Services Authority for them to deal with on my behalf.0 -

Dear Sir/Madam
On the 4th of September I wrote to you stating that I would be happy to accept an offer as final settlement on my complaint for Credit Card Number ****************. In your offer letter you stated that you would send me a cheque for the total amount within 15 working days. 17 working days have now passed and I have not received any cheque and no explanation as to why the payment you agreed to make has been delayed.
If I have not received the money that you agreed to pay me, within 2 weeks from the date of this letter, I will understand that to mean you are not prepared to pay me what you have offered, and I will happily escalate my complaint to the Financial Services Authority for them to deal with on my behalf.
Kind regards

Great letter,
Also to add, you can always include the CEO (Chief executive officer) in the letter as well.
Even though they will not actually deal with it, the payment may be dealt with a little quicker.
Fingers crossed and well done on all of your Successes! The one and only "Dizzy Di"

.......I would also like to say, that the main of them give a timescale, but due to backlogs, they do tend to take longer than stated.
But yes, no harm in keeping in touch with them, good luck all and hope you all receive your cheques soon. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
