Your deadline is too short, the FSA guideline is to allow the lender eight weeks to deal with a complaint/ dispute.
You would escalate your complaint to the Financial ombudsman Service (FOS).
Are you really sending this only two days after the bank's own deadline has passed?
Here's the MSE advice article on this topic.MSE_ADVICE_ARTICLE wrote:My bank agreed to refund PPI but I'm still waiting, can I speed things up?
Sadly this is a common, frustrating problem. Banks say it should be within 28 days, but it could be 8-12 weeks. You'll get interest on the payout up to the date it's issued though, so that's a minor consolation. If the delay's unreasonable, there's nothing to stop you contacting it to say you aren't happy, and asking for extra compensation for distress and inconvenience.
Do note also that, if you did refer your complaint to FOS, it would take a year or more to adjudicate!0 -
i am keeping my fingers crossed that the cheque arrives today or early next week then that will be nearly a month, which is what others are saying it takes. but i need to check that they have paid the owed amount to moorgate as my loan finished last week so i will need a refund from them. i do get fed up with chasing people!. they would take our money quick enough but in no hurry to give us what we are owed.0

My cheque arrived today. Acceptance letter was sent 24 August.0 -
Just tried emailing the address in Nolcats post dated 26/9 to try and use the missing cheque tactic and got a reply saying my message wasn't deliverable as that mailbox is full. I've been waiting over a month now for my cheque and am really starting to get annoyed.0

i emailed crt.pleaseassist@citi.com every day for the last week, never got a reply from them. i sent my acceptance form back on the 31/08/12 and they recieved it in their office on 4/09/12. so took a month. i must admit i was getting very annoyed. i hope yours turns up soon.0

I'm in the same situation and emailed them on Friday. Received reply today to say they had my acceptance and I should have cheque by end of week. That will be 20 days since returning acceptance.
Fingers crossed, waiting on £6500.
Thanks for all the advice on this site which helped me to reclaim.0 -
....as I received my offer on the 20th October and after returning the acceptance form by return post have heard nothing since.
I have written a letter at the weekend and just emailed the email address listed on this very helpful forum.
Can I ask what is the average time most people are waiting? Mine was an EGG loan and I have to say the whole process till now has been very smooth and within all their agreed timeframes so I am surprised at this sudden silence and delay.
Also did your cheques arrive by recorded delivery? I keep watching and waiting for the postman but am beginning to think what I thought was the end of the road is merely layby on a longer journey.0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for the posts with the the number to ring, think Canada Square are getting bored with my calls now!
Acceptance letter sent back on 12th Decemeber, letter received stating 20 working days, no cheque, called 29th January told to ring back Friday (1st Feb) rang back on 1st and told it will take 2 working days to find out where cheques is, phone back on 5th Feb and told cheque has been cancelled, no reason given, receive 2nd letter dated 5th to say "due to unforseen complications" will now be another 20 working days.
Still waiting for cheque, so rang back today explained how my concern is that it still wont arrive in 20 days and will be in same situation, am told that an email will be sent saying that it should be sent out urgently, which is quite surprising as in my previous 6 phone calls nobody has ever mentioned that they can do this, I asked by "urgent" how long do you mean and was told 48hours!! Finally a result???
Phone call 1 minute later to say that as it was already re-ordered on the 5th they have to wait till then to send the email! When asked why they didn't send the email to say it was urgent after the first cancelled cheque was told that the policy is it has to be cancelled twice before they can say its urgent??
So from my experience expect to wait at least 3 months before you see any money and make sure you keep ringing them!!

This forum is very interesting to me so thanks to all who have posted here!! I have today sent back my questionnaire form that was sent to me by Canada Square Operations. I have spoken with them twice for advice and to be fair they answered the phone first time and were very helpful. I read that most of you have had offer letters?? How long did it take to get one of those to come through?? I was thrilled to open the letter as I had not even started any claims yet. The number I called was also 0800 3582101 and I will be sure to chase up this claim every week after reading this forum. I have no idea of the offer that could be made so looking forward to getting anything back at all :T Will update this forum as progress is made!! :money:0
