In stark contrast to the illuminating substance that you have supplied no doubt? I noticed that you've neither condemned or condoned throwing signed for parcels through windows.

    you don't notice too well

    to your original point.
Delivering through a window is not delivery spec, nor is not obtaining a signature

Without meaning to be rude, I genuinely couldn't understand your disjointed and fragmented sentence. It didn't make any sense. Judging by the fact that you have done a bit of correctional editing to your quote you would be in agreement that it reads like an excerpt from Jar-Jar Binks' diary. :p
  • Custardy - you are just nit-picking for the sake of it so I am not going to reply to any of the comments you have made tonight. Sometimes you are helpful but other times you are moody and grumpy.

Goat - if RM had bothered to telephone me about this I would have been reassured that they cared about providing good customer service and were keen to put things right. Obviously they couldn't care less.

Johnny - in an ideal world where everyone did the job they are paid for properly then a card through the door would've been the best thing to happen. Next in preference would've been a gentle drop as that would not have been potentially damaging to the contents and would not have frightened the person in the bath.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    Peace, love and labradors!
  • Just to clarify for anyone who is getting overly hung up on this particular parcel. This parcel wasn't breakable or urgent. I'm glad I have it but I didn't need it quickly.

The crux of the matter is the safety of future parcels. I do not wish a precedent to be set whereby any RM employee believes that it is Ok to either forge my signature or to not obtain a signature for deliveries to our house. It leaves the system open to fraud and is unacceptable.

So you are in a trial leave with neighbour area?
If not, then I should think you should choose follow the rules or not.
    Not pick and choose.

Life would be much simpler if posties followed the rules.
Yes it would royally !!!! people off.
mean more failures for incomplete deliveries
more trips to DOs etc but then everyone would have the same situation and know whats what (RM are as guilty of muddying the waters on this as posties!)

I have posted the full quote, so everyone can see how hard to understand an errant letter a can make things for you.

    not reply?oh no!

Yours is a minor complaint amongst many many received every day.
no surprise with tens of millions of customers.
it requires follow up because you didnt give full details in your original message to them. no doubt a common issue that would require calls that take far longer to deal with than an email.

Until the complaint has been read by the relevant person at royal mail it is unfair to say they couldn't care less. Now the correct form, with the relevant information has been sent. The right department will receive the information and deal with it.

I'm with you 100% on chucking the parcel through the window, however at the moment you don't know if he forged your signature or deliberately didn't bother getting a signature. He may have simply made a mistake and forgot that a signature was needed, unfortunately we all make silly mistakes.

Dodger I DO know that four days later after 'delivery' there is still no signature online using the marvellous miraculous tracking system recommended to me by someone on this thread.

Not impressed with that. It can just get added to my list of RM things I'm distinctly unimpressed with.

So your view of it is that the guy is simply a muppet?

Roll on being able to collect parcels from Costcutter is all I can say!

I'm not saying he is a muppet where the signature is concerned, it's just that he may have made a genuine mistake, on the other hand he may well have done what you suggest, we simply don't know. He is though a muppet for throwing it through the window, that wasn't a mistake, that was plain stupidity.
