Royal Mail Signed For parcel thrown through open window!

Judging by how much this successful royal mail delivery has annoyed you
If something was delivered within the estimated timescale and by the paid for method, then I would say that the delivery was successful.
If however, something was delivered within the estimated timescale and part of the paid for service was not obtained (a signature by the person receiving the package), I can't see how you think that this was a successful delivery.
A delivery yes, but not delivered successfully using the paid for and agreed service.0 -

The method of delivery was not to spec but of course the actual delivery was successful. The OP has her parcelThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Actually it wasn't. The sender (whom is the one that contracted RM to do the delivery) instructed them to deliver a parcel with a duty of care and obtain a signature - up on doing this the contract has been performed correctly. As it is RM was lucky in that despite failing to fulfil the contract, the end result is to their somewhat satisfaction.
Another major fail for RM.0 -
The actual delivery was successful. The outcome of the delivery was successful eg the OP has her parcel, on time, undamaged. The fact no signature was obtained does not make it an unsuccessful delivery. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. 1) I didn't know that info was available online and the chap who emailed me today didn't bother to tell me.
I have just put the number into the tracker and got
COME BACK LATER
Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
Information on your item is not yet available online
Don't hold your breath.
I've waited months in the past for these to be updated, for it to just never happen. Their tracking systems are worse than their delivery systems."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

It makes it an unsuccessful recorded delivery, which is what was paid for.
Here's a question for you goater.
Sat that you purchased a 1st class airline ticket to go from the UK to the USA but when you got to the airport you were only able to travel in economy due to overbooking of 1st class.
As the outcome was the same in that you got from A to B in the correct time, and you were delivered to your destination, would you say that the airline carried out their contract successfully?0 -

And if instead of letting you walk out through the airplane doors, they threw you out of the window as they passed the terminal building? Would that also be a contract sucessfully fufilled?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

That's useful cheers Mrcow. I've been checking it four or five times a day since I was informed that 'Signed For' items can be tracked. I'll just wait for the customer service chap to solve that mystery then.
When I think of all the other trackable orders I had from other companies I've never had a problem with the tracking part. I follow it online. They turn up, I sign, it updates. Even with companies which other people on here have had issues with - the tracking has been faultless.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

I LOVE this post!
By the apparently very low standards of service he's prepared to accept then I'm sure that..
PROVIDED HE LANDED UNDAMAGED
that would be a most suitable alternative as he would not have to wait in a queue with all the other people while the rich, elderly, disabled people disembarked first. He'd be the first person off the plane and his holiday would be extended by at least half an hour! Result. A most successful journey. :rotfl:Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Either you've never flown with Ryanair, or if you have, you didn't read their T&C's otherwise you would have seen the optional "doorway, stairs, walkway and ramp" charges.0
