I think same thing could be said from user of other platforms. iOS put me off and just doesn't work for me. And the fraud from iTunes put me off buying apps from them. Ah well.... the cycle continues
I'm personally pleased a lot of people dont like Apple. They are an expensive toy, and I feel that I get the extra quality that I pay for.
It's just a shame that people always argue over whats better, apple or google.. Who cares.
Being an iUser I prefer my iDevices. Im used to them, and they work perfectly for my needs, and I'm pretty demanding.
Its totally understandable that people who dont use the features of an iDevice would say Android is better. Its cheaper and meets their own needs/expectations.
Just because people dont agree with what the users of other platforms look for in a device doesnt make one better then the other...
For me, the large selling points are;
iTunes. (I have hundreds of albums on my itunes library, and thats where I like it.)
The internet (apple's Safari is an amazing browser and accounts for more than half of ALL mobile browsing)
Media (gaming / tv / news) = Brilliant
Social networking
I know other platforms can offer this. But then I could get all these features from a ten year old desktop pc. the difference is that, for me, iOS makes everything simple, efficient, and effective.
Android is like sirloin steak. Its really good... But if you want to guarantee that you get the very best experience... go for Fillet.0 -

I think that is where the problem is. Lots of people gets into a mode of arguing which is better. I am with you in saying who cares. Apple tick the boxes for you as it works for you and android tick the boxes for me and just plain works for me (BTW, most mobile phone reviewer will probably disagree that iphone 4s is better than S3 at the moment. Even Siri said that a certain Nokia model was the best until Apple patch it).
I think the issue (especially on this board) is that some user make it a big thing whenever apple announce something and then start making comments about how other platforms are unable to do so etc.... Which probably is what provoking all the 'discussion' here.0 -

However reading some of the posts I think whenever Apple introduces a new version of iOS, Android fans will protest that Google's operating system has long had most of the new features. I don't blame them for saying that. The Android fans forget one important thing, Apple may be late to a party, but iPhone users really don't care. When Apple finally delivers the feature, they'll get a better experience than Android users.
Even Google have a function called iGoogle.
I lot of Android users are ex iOS users (like me), many iOS users are ex Android. Given the choice (personal opinion) I prefer Android having used both.
Also a 3.5" screen is too restrictive for any decent web browsing and for using Kindle
I used TomTom on my iPhone which was ok due to small screen, now I have used Google Nav on my Note it is 100's better as I can see in advanced where I need to go. So for the user experience I would say Sat Nav for me is better on a bigger screen. I might consider downloading CoPilot to ensure i don't use data when using the SatNav
Given the choice of Windows 7 (work) or OSX (Home) I prefer OSX0 -

You do realise that i(something) is not started by Apple? Probably not.... since everything is started by Apple.
I do not think a jailbroken iphone should be use in any comparison as it is not Apple's intention to have jailbroken phone, else it would be available from Apple themselves.
To be fair to apple users, haxxing your gear is not new to smartphones - I for one never intended to use the stock firmware or carrier-modified carp on my Win-Mo & Android phones and had rooted/re-flashed a new ROM the first day each time.
Unfortunately, jailbroken iOS can be compared to Android. I say unfortunately because imo they're both not good enough, they both require myriad apps or silly workarounds to do basic stuff that have been standard in a competent OS since Apple made such a good job of popularising the GUI back before I was born, back when it was an IT firm & not a consumer lifestyle company.
Give me a phone running Windows 7 or even XP with a basic touch-screen API any day & you'd all be welcome to keep Apple, Android and anything else.
Ah, I can dream anyway..0 -
Having been an iPhone user until recently when I switched to Android. The inbuilt Navigation app which came as standard was a definately plus and was only a matter of time before iPhone had to play catch up.
Plus on a Note screen, no sat nav available on an iPhone is ever going to knock it. Sorry, iOS has lost me to Android and I don't think I am ever returning. Small screen size a deal breaker for Apple
In case everyone is not aware, the post 9 have started the iPhone vs Android phones argument. And then posts by 23n1th and DUTR
It seem only Android users care when the iPhone gets features .
All posts before that were discussing the satnav and iOS.0 -

You are an android user remember?
As others mention which you seem to ignore, different OS are preffered by different usrs, it's only when you get over excited about malware and catchup features that folk respond and correct you in your false assumptions.
Other psosts were discussing satnav and iOS in that it is playing catchup0 -

What's wrong with that?
The start of the post is about iPhone satnav, from post 9 and many post by you have started Android vs iPhone. If you read the posts from 1 to 8, the word Android is not used once.
What's wrong with making users aware of Android malware?
I will be happy to see more and more users becoming aware of the malware and save money then calling them idiots, some android fanboys have written.0 -

The start of the post may have been about the satnav, obviously if you read the rest of the thread folk don't share your enthusiasm over it, a great many of your posts harbour on about malware, yet you have not been affected by it, yet it is supposed to be rife!
Like you say there is nothing wrong with trying different systems, what is wrong is that you cannot seem to accept that other readers on a public forum may not share the same views and experiences as yourself, then there are the bits you post like MOST people this n that, or have even extended to create other screen names :rotfl:
One only has to look at the threads you have started to see what you are about.
