We've been through this, only 5 types of third party apps are alllowed to run in the background indefinitely. Audio playback is one of those.
By your own definition, iOS doesn't multitask properly as the majority of apps are suspended/paused when they aren't in the foreground.
Once again;
Like I said before, I think you're confusing with me someone else. I contended with someone who claimed that iOS doesn't multitask that it in fact does, and has always done so. This is factually correct; iOS has always been able to run tasks in the background. At first, this was limited to 1st party apps, and following the release of iOS 4, was rolled out to 3rd party apps.
You're not telling me anything I don't already know. What you have proved, however, is that iOS does multitask, which is what I said in the first instance.0 -

We have covered this. That is one the few permitted activities to run in the background of an iOS application*facepalm*0 -
Yep, we can say for sure that Google took their time. It's the reason for them taking so long that we are contending. I'm asserting that Google took so long because they changed their strategy following the announcement of the iPhone. From the evidence we have, I think that is the most likely scenario. You simply disagree, you've thrown a couple of strops along the way, and that's fine, you can think whatever you like; it's no skin off my nose.Google took the time needed. That is all you can say for sure. You are simply speculating and trying to make the evidence fit your biase.
Right, so the things that aren't paused are in fact, multitasking? I think you've finally cracked it!And the majority of things are paused in iOS hence no real multi-tasking.
Correct! Like I said, I already know this. It's the people who think iOS doesn't multitask that you need to tell.We have covered this. That is one the few permitted activities to run in the background of an iOS application*facepalm*0 -
Sorry, but I think it is the most likely scenario. Like I said, you're free to disagree. There's no point going around in circles about it, however.From the evidence we have your scenario is not the most likely.
I think you need to stop digging this hole you've made for yourself. iOS multitasks, therefore it's a multitasking OS. Again, there's no point in going around in circles about this as it won't stop iOS from being a multitasking OS. It is what it is.So in the true sense of the word/phrase, its not a multi-tasking OS.
I think we've about exhausted this thread now as we're just going around in circles. Thanks to those who have been polite and respectful and made this an interesting debate.0 -
