Ok.....so you still can't multitask on iOS 6?
You should have just stayed quiet. Although I do like the reason why iOS isn't allowed to multitask.
iOS has been a multitasking OS since day one. I think you're possibility confusing this with 3rd party apps being able to multitask (which they have now been able to do since 2010).0 -

If you read the post it shows you how to multitaks. It seem you have not seen or used the ios and still making things up.
In case if you are not aware, the multitask on Samsung S3 works the same, you hold down the home button.0 -

No....you actually said (as I read between the lines) it can't multitask because multitasking uses resources and power.
One would imagine that on an S3, one can start an app get it doing something, then switch to another app, do something else and then switch back to the first app which (and this is the clever multi-tasking bit) will have carried on doing what it was doing before......
Imagine that eh?0 -

"Multitasking in iOS allows you to switch instantly between apps and to resume an app. When you return to an app, you can pick up right where you left off." This function is same on ios, Windows Phone and Android0 -
IOS multitasking involves IOS pausing an app, If you are loading a web page and you decide to open up another app. IOS will suspend the browser so the page will not load.
Android does multitasking is similar to a pc. Using the same example if I open up another app during internet browsing, the page will still load in the background.
Hope this clears things up, and people have a better understanding.0 -

Yeah you can do the same on iOS.IOS multitasking involves IOS pausing an app, If you are loading a web page and you decide to open up another app. IOS will suspend the browser so the page will not load.
iOS will continue to load the page in the background.0 -

Have you used the iphone to check this or is it what you think?
I have checked on iphone and Android and both are the same.0 -

iOS does not do multitasking until iOS4 I think. Even then, some argue whether its true multitasking.

This article might help ppl understand the issue about multitasking in both OS0 -

iOS has always been a multitasking OS. What you're referring to in iOS 4 is the point at which third party apps were able to multitask.0 -

Think of it like this.....I have a PC and want to run Microsoft Word and Photoshop.
If the PC was android based, I could open my Word document and type happily away while Photoshop was applying a particularly tricky filter in the background.
If the PC was iOS based, I could save my Word document and come back to it after Photoshop did it's business. But I couldn't type while Photoshop is doing it's business.
Although I'm sure the Apple fans will explain why the latter is better. Probably something about it just working?0
