The reason price start to go down is because companies start to lower the base price once people who have already purchased the item are ripped off at higher base price.
That’s how it works
If you think Samsung is a public service or not out to make money you are wrong. In first three months of 2012 Samsung have made $4.46b in profit (around $50m a day), not too far off Apple and others.
On the contrary you are wrong. The more you buy the cheaper it is, its called bulk buying (it brings the price down).
You also seem to have a very selective memory (like most fanboys), as apple have lowered the price of the iphone in the past causing controversy when they did so. As is your way you don't know what you’re talking about and just make things up.matilda.cs wrote: »Just because Apple are adding features that other providers have had for a long time, doesn’t meen Apple are not innovative. They have been at the forefront of technology for many years. Its a fact I'm afraid. I love apple products, personally, and I dont like Android or windows as a platform. Apple seems to 'just work'. It so intuitive, and the Apps are better. (more of them, better quality)
My android, Linux and windows platforms "just work" as well, how weird!!! I'm personally not in the habit of buying or using things that don’t work, its funny you would assume I and others do.Haven't Apple single handedly put Macromedia (Flash) out of business (no one will use Flash anymore...Everything is going to HTML5. Why? Because Apple dont use Flash.)
Also, aren't Apple the reason that Blackberry have moved away from the mobile phone market?
And FYI people are moving towards HTML5 because its open like android, unlike flash which is proprietary like apple. Is that with the revenue from Apps and D/L's included?Didnt Playstation make a loss on every PS3 they sold? If they sold it at the cost it was to make, no one would buy it. But now people have to pay nearly £50 a game...Android/Apple or Windoze, they all make a decent profit from eith the phone hardware or all subsequent software, but they all get their money. I'd rather give it to Apple personally, becuase the software works so well and the hardware is amazing and just...pretty.Although, I do worry that in 10 years you will be able to shop in only two places. Tesco and the App store.
Or worse, they'll merge and become iTesco.thegoodman wrote: »The choice of phones and os is always a good thing. That's how new functions are added.
Not according to apple who are striving for a monopoly using their billions to sue competitors instead of actually doing some work and innovating. However reading some of the posts I think whenever Apple introduces a new version of iOS, Android fans will protest that Google's operating system has long had most of the new features. I don't blame them for saying that. The Android fans forget one important thing, Apple may be late to a party, but iPhone users really don't care. When Apple finally delivers the feature, they'll get a better experience than Android users.
What exactly was sooooooo much better about apples version of "copy and paste" than androids???Even Google have a function called iGoogle.matilda.cs wrote: »Well said. Android do have some features sooner than Apple. But the Apple feature, when released, is very good quality.
Cant really speak for the quality of android apps as the OS has always put me straight off...matilda.cs wrote: »Actually, now I think about it... I think you will find that most of the 'new' features have been available on jailbroken iPhones long before google offered a poor version of it. Dev's have been making open source apps for years for the iPhone, which then later become standard tech.

Also you are aware that apple think jailbreaking your phone should be illegal, aren't you???thegoodman wrote: »The jailbroken iPhone is like Android with better functions. You can install 3rd party apps. Same as what you can with Android and also have top quality apps from Apple.
I have used many Android phones. The problems are:
1. Updates are difficult to get. May need to wait many months.
2. A lot of apps don't work with all phones. For example the Sky Go app only works with a few Android phones. How sad would be if you find out after buying the Android phone you can't use many apps.
3. The malware is a big problem. So many people have been tricked into receiving text messages at the cost of £5 each.
TGM you are aware that the above post makes you a complete hypocrite, aren't you??? Not to mention your numbered points show you don't know what you are talking about! Like we didn't already know that.matilda.cs wrote: »I'm personally pleased a lot of people dont like Apple. They are an expensive toy, and I feel that I get the extra quality that I pay for.
That’s the way apple want you to think, well done for becoming a victim of their advertising.It's just a shame that people always argue over whats better, apple or google.. Who cares.Being an iUser I prefer my iDevices. Im used to them, and they work perfectly for my needs, and I'm pretty demanding.For me, the large selling points are;
iTunes. (I have hundreds of albums on my itunes library, and thats where I like it.)
The internet (apple's Safari is an amazing browser and accounts for more than half of ALL mobile browsing)
Media (gaming / tv / news) = Brilliant
Social networking
I know other platforms can offer this. But then I could get all these features from a ten year old desktop pc. the difference is that, for me, iOS makes everything simple, efficient, and effective.
Android is like sirloin steak. Its really good... But if you want to guarantee that you get the very best experience... go for Fillet.
Not in reply to anyone but is it me or is matilda the english speaking version of goodman???0 -
thegoodman wrote: »What's wrong with making users aware of Android malware?
You don't raise awareness. You constantly churn out the same glib rhetoric against anything that isn't the iPhone.
Instead of raising awareness, you deliberately mislead.0 -
I'm confused.... why do I have to jailbreak an iPhone voiding my warranty to get the same features as my android phone, if an iPhone "just works"???? Can anyone tell me???0

It seem only Android users care when the iPhone gets features .
All posts before that were discussing the satnav and iOS.
Correct me, isn't this moneysaving. My other posts also said that going android is going to save me lots of money plus I have features that are not available yet on iOS. Look at post 5, this also mentions iOS playing catch up
In true MSE (seeing it is a money saving forum), Android is cheaper than iPhone. Technically they may be comparable but Android definately cheaper0 -

iPhone prices are kept at an artificially high level by Apple.
Following your logic, an iPhone 3GS at £319 is comparable with a Samsung Galaxy S II at £339.
It is not the case.0 -

I m sure aim of MSE is to find cheapest way to buy. Eg if you want to buy an iPhone what is the cheapest way.
Even Martin Lewis article on mobile and iphone have done that.

Are you saying way ML running the site is all wrong?
He should not have done the report on iPhones because its not the cheapest phone?0 -

In post #88 you said the thread was about the satnav on iOS6, an iphone (or any other handset) cost what they cost. If somebody wants an item they will pay for it whatever the price, in the case of the iphone they are the same price everywhere, only the airtime will vary the overall running cost.0 -

thegoodman wrote: »Yes, you have got it in one:T
Yes indeed I and many others have, only you now need to take a bow and accept that malware, slick, hold their price etc is not a concern to others and should be of no concern to you either (well not to the extent you need to keep harping on about it):laugh:0 -
Tried the new sat nav on iOS6 today and apart from a few bugs (it is a Beta after all) it is very good indeedI spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
