Just switched Wi-Fi off and tried at home.

With just 2 bars of signal and H only connection, I got 2.12 download and 0.92 upload!

    Now I am confused!

I'm a very light user of my smart phone, but it would be nice to stream some radio on the go sometimes and what with phone calls dropping out more and more, I think I might have to find another network.

Shame as I've known about Ovivo for ages, they seemed to have a lot of happy users, and seemed ideal for my useage, and free too! but it does seem that its going downhill fast :(

/edit - just tried a giffgaff sim and got 1.18 download and 1.34 upload, so maybe ovivo isn't as bad as I thought. Or maybe i'm just in a crap area :(

OVIVO has two scheduled maintenance windows in the next 24 hours.
    • Between 8pm and 10pm on the 3rd February 2014 maintenance will affect mobile data on OVIVO.
    • Between midnight and 00:30am on the 4th February 2014 maintenance will affect account management, calls and texts on OVIVO.

I think you'll find vodafone are the slowest 3G in most areas.Your speeds seem pretty decent to me,I'm getting a pitiful 0.05 download/upload on data and 6.0 download and 0-87 upload on wi-fi at home.

Anyone had billing issues with Ovivo? I sent three (very short) text messages to an American mobile @15p each and Ovivo have charged me for five of them.

I am not so worried about the 30 pence but it is the fact that Ovivo took a whole week to reply to me and then said that they were correct. Coincidentally they only replied once I had chased them up.

My phone shows the 3 texts but I cannot prove that I only sent 3 (scout's honour I did) but Ovivo say differently? I assume that they will never hold their hands up to a mistake so I will lose this battle?

Might not be a mistake - your phone might have had a couple of attempts at sending the texts - so multiples could have gone. Did the recipient receive the same text more than once etc.
I sometimes get people say to me why did you send that twice (on Orange and giffgaff), when I know I only sent it once..but I can't prove that the phone didn't attempt multiple times etc., and the phone won't show this either.
Like you say 30p is neither here nor there...unless it starts to become frequent and adding up. I would dare bet that your phone has sent multiple times though.

Has anyone using Nokia Symbian been able to do a reliable speed test using the speed meter app? Depending on the server, I get between 2080ms and 26ms ping and 92MB/s and 0.05MB/s

btw, voice minutes are now 250 mins up from 200.

The only saving grace is that free Wi-Fi is pretty popular nowadays, so don't have to totally rely on the terrible data service!
