    Can anybody help with this.

I have a Motorola Moto G (on the ovivo network) and recently the gmail email notification will only work on wi-fi.

I have googled and checked all my settings etc but still can't get to the bottom of it.

It's getting as annoying as the pitiful data speeds.

    Fixed:

    Sorted after trying another google:

Go to setting, connections, data usage, then scroll down to google services and select it. Then make sure that "restrict background data" isn't selected. Somehow mine was selected so I unclicked it and VOILA push notifications started coming thru!! Hope this helps.

If you haven't seen it, we now have the explanation for the poor data speeds.

As most of you know, you will see an Ovivo Now page with advertising after browsing a couple of pages. It is only once this page has been displayed and you have clicked Continue that more normal data speeds open up.
Which probably explains why I've never had much problem with data speed being as I've always clicked through the ad page
It's not just about the money

I'm thinking of lumping on this as my current 3 deal is up this month.
I use next to no data it's just for calls and texts, and my work phone takes 80% of my traffic anyway so seems like a good deal to me, punt £20, if it lasts 3 months then I've broken even and anything after that is pure gravy

  • How does this work? Do you pay cash upfront, then get the freebies?

You apply online and pay a one off £20, which includes £15 PAYG credit.
The SIM comes within a few days and it was really easy to set up.
For no additional charge you then qualify for 250 minutes, 300 texts and 500 mb per month, which is plenty for me.
Worth a few adverts not to have to pay again.

  • I want to get an account with Ovivo I have an unlocked smartmobile. At the moment I have a contract which I cant get out of, but wanted another sim card with Ovivo, which is the best please?

Is it possible to get 2 micro sims into one old size sim and choose which sim card you use on the same phone?

You have already posted this on another thread, perhaps use the answers there?

Ok just googled and figured out, so for those who got the new sim card please make sure you do the right settings for APN

    Get Internet and MMS Settings
It's easy to get online with OVIVO using OVIVO Settings, our range of tools for getting your phone online. We've got guides for the vast majority of phones and most tablets, but if you'd prefer, you can also download a generic settings (PDF) guide and get started manually. If you're still having issues, don't hesitate to get in touch, and we'll do what we can to help. Remember that if you don't use the correct settings, you might not be able to get online or be charged for doing so.

So instead of using APN : gprsconnect settings please make sure to use ovivomobile.com
