Anyone had suspicions about their billing?

Does the phone have to be unlocked or will a smartphine locked to vodaphone work.

I had used Ovivo on a spare (basic) phone for some months and was very happy with the service.

The contract with Orange (on my main phone) came to the end of the minimum period so I got a pac, switched my number to Ovivo and put the sim into my smartphone.

The switchover went fine but I had major problems with internet connectivity and had to contact Ovivo for support. Despite their best efforts (and they were very helpful) it transpired that my HTC Sensation XE had compatability issues and, as it stood, would not work on Ovivo's network.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding your internet issues. We have had an response from our support team who have advised the following.

The issue you are having is an Android issue we have seen before.

The presence of locked Vodafone settings by some device ROMs, causes all connection attempts with other settings to fail. If the APN backup and Restore application is not able to remove these settings, the device will not be compatible with our service.

The presence of a connection profile, higher up the list is that it will be used as preference by the device.

Only option for the you to would be to take the device to their retailer or direct to manufacturer for support.

So basically, my phone would only work on Ovivo if I made non-standard changes to the configuration. I had plenty of advice from users on this site but the actions required were beyond what I was prepared to do (or even understand!).

I think I was just unlucky with the particular phone that I have but I would suggest that you ensure Ovivo works fully on your phone before porting your number across.

I am now with 3.

thanks think best bet would be to buy a sim free android phone when my current contract ends (may 14 and phone is on its last legs)

Ovivo has doubled their internet allowance just for November, pity I only get 0.1Mb/s download speed.

Just logged in to my account to check on that double allowance and found my account usage hasn't been updated since 25/10 which incidentally is the date my monthly allowance runs out.
Anyone else noticed this ?

If there is a problem ring them on 263 or get them on twitter, they are usually very helpful.

The double data starts on your renewal date in November...
Eg.. Mine renews 10th November so I get double data from then till the 10th December.

I ordered a nexus 5 from google play yesterday which shows it will not be dispatched before 6/11. I've just spent 30 minutes arguing with 3 that I want my pac code so I can move my number to the ovivo freedom plan, I've already got the sim, 3 cs told me this deal was too good to be true and where did I think ovivo was making money. Am I likely to have a problem using this phone with this sim?

Out of interest I,ve brought a spare sim card from these but I won't be using it for a while. Any ideas how long i have to start using it or to activate it?
