Any chance you used the new iPhone with some other sim first? iPhones from CPW have a nasty habit of locking to the first network they connect to.

    Bad news.
Google for, say, "iphone locked to giffgaff".

I use Ovivo on both my phone and a separate sim in a mifi device. On a recent visit to Devon my phone was registering full bars and had no problems with voice calls but the mifi data rate was dire and I never got a page to appear on my tablet unless I went into the town centre.
I have just purchased a mobile wifi device and put in an OVIVO data sim and I am absolutely delighted by the speed of the connection, way better than my phone on T-Mobile. Obviously not as good as my home broadband connection but very useable. I guess it depends on your Voda 3G signal.
On a sperate note, my daughter has an OVIVO sim in her mobile as she is a very light user. Whilst I am very happy with it there does seem to be quite a delay when she is receiving texts that I send to her. I'm talking hours rather than minutes. Admittedly I don;t send them often so I might just be unlucky but I would like to hear comments from other people on the Freedom Sim as to whether they have similar issues.

I have only just joined ovivo and am wondering when we see adverts on the phone sim?
Should the phone browser be set to their homepage or is it only occasional advertising?

You could try sending a text FROM another operator and see how long it takes,it might not be ovivo who are the slow ones.

No need to set the phone to the home page and it's only occasional adverts

My disclaimer to this post is ownership of a Nokia 1661-a basic phone with basic uses, the way I like it.My D.D ,however, would like an all singing all dancing phone for her 11th birthday.
We have the chance of getting her a 2nd hand Motorola MB525 and reading on here about ovivo I am keen to get a SIM. Here's where I need help.
    1) Is this SIM compatible with the phone?
    2) Do I need a standard mini or I SIM?
    3) Which tariff to go for- Freedom?
    4) will she be badgered by constant adverts?
    Thankful for advise I get.

    1) Yes, if the phone is not locked or is locked to Vodafone.
    2) 'Mini' is the standard and the one your phone takes.
    3) Depends on your DD's appetite to minutes, texts and mobile data. If Freedom allowances are not big enough for her, there are better deals around.
    4) No. They are short and not frequent.

I have an unlocked Nokia 100 phone a very basic phone used for phoning and texting. No internet use available on it. I like it because it does the simple things very well and lasts a week on one charge.

Can the Ovivo freedom service be used with it? Not bothered about the data allowance.
