For Ovivo to Ovivo calls & texts, it looks like you'll consume the monthly allowance unless you've already run out of minutes/texts in which case they'll be free.

They've worded it very specifically - can someone confirm Ovivo to Ovivo calls and texts are debited from the monthly allowance?

    Source: Ovivo's website:
I'm confused - are you asking if the free calls are included in the free calls allowance??? They're free, what difference does it make?

Are the "free Ovivo to Ovivo calls/texts" debited from the monthly allowance?

It's the very first question in their help section!:

    • Will OVIVO to OVIVO Calls and Texts Decrease my Free Allowance? On the Freedom Price Plan, yes OVIVO to OVIVO Calls and Texts that you make, will come out of your free allowance. However, outside of your free allowance, you will not be charged for these calls and texts.
On all the OVIVO Pay Monthly Plans, OVIVO to OVIVO Calls and Texts will not decrease you allowance and are completely free.

The fact it's at the top of their help section suggests that others have felt the need to clarify their wording.

It's misleading for Ovivo to label those calls & texts as "free" if they are in fact debited from a finite monthly allowance.

A finite monthly allowance WHICH IS FREE. Outside of your allowance Ovivo-Ovivo calls are free. Inside your allowance, Ovivo-Ovivo calls are free. So their claim that Ovivo-Ovivo calls are free seems pretty accurate to me.

The calls are not FREE. They are debited from a finite allowance. Thus leaving fewer minutes/texts for calls to non-Ovivo mobiles.

The only time Ovivo to Ovivo calls are actually FREE is after a user has run out of minutes and texts.

But the finite allowance is free, so it is still correct to stay that there are unlimited free Ovivo to Ovivo calls (and texts).

Yes it would be even better if the Ovivo to Ovivo calls didn't come out of the free allowance first, but you can't expect everything.

Can I just add that I know the guy that started this and he is one of the nicest, most approachable people you could ever meet.

So rather than sitting here as faceless gexperts (I made that word up, it means Google Expert, yuo may use it..), get in contact with them and talk rather than slating a good, sound business model.

When Three launched they offered free Three to Three minutes. No impact on your monthly allowance.

Giff Gaff to Giff Gaff calls are also free and don't impact on your monthly allowance.

What I and seemingly many othes have questioned is the rather unique policy wording where FREE unlimited Ovivo to Ovivo calls are in fact debited from the monthly allowance. But, if/when you run out of your monthly allowance, Ovivo to Ovivo calls then become completely free and are not debited from an allowance or your account balance. Nice and simple... ;)

For some customers (depending on usage) Three's 321 PAYG tariff may be a better option.

But the big difference is that with Three, Giffgaff and everyone else is that you PAY for the money allowance.

The monthly allowance is FREE with Ovivo, so what are you winging about? So what if Ovivo to Ovivo calls are deducted from from the FREE allowance, they are still free because the allowance is free.

    Get it now?

Of course anyone who prefers to pay can go to Three or Giffgaff but some of us like free things...
