Could both of you (and any other Ovivo customers out there) see what your remaining data allowanace is by requesting it via SMS (Send "bb free" to 39555) and comparing it with what the website says.
I'm pretty sure it's the website that's wrong and the SMS message gives the correct number, but I can't quite seem to persuade Ovivo to investigate.
The balance by text message said I have 500MB left (which should be correct), the website still tells me 476MB. You must be right that it's something to do with their newly designed webpage.0 -
My account shows 473 MB, after using 3 MB
I wonder if the discrepancy with 476 MB shown at nil use comes from another way of counting bytes, perhaps 500 x 1000 x 1000, rather than x 1024 x 1024, like the frequent way for computer disk drives (this old PC has one that is nominally 20 GB, yet clicking properties shows it as 18.6 GB, which is approx 20 billion bytes).
I imagine they'll sort this out shortly0 -
Maybe it's just me, but as an occasional Ovivo Mobile user I find the ads very little problem.
They're infrequent, easy to skip within a few seconds if you choose to, and a very small price to pay for avoiding the cost of a monthly contract just for occasional use. Not impressed by the Vodafone coverage, but that's the only downside for me.0 -
I have tried various combinations of these settings and am still unable to get a data connection. Present APN settings are their default, supl, dun, fota but I have found that using default, doesn't make any difference whereas switching back to internet messes everything up
The problem for me is that I am unable to remove Vodaphone APN's for Contract and PAYG (they have a padlock sign against them) and these seem to be causing some sort of conflict. It doesn't help that Android versions 4 and above prevents you from removing these so the APN Backup and Restore app is not an option.
I have input the Ovivo settings manually (many times) and have Ovivo as the default APN.
At the moment Ovivo have asked that I email a number of phone setting screen prints for them to check but if anyone has any other thoughts please let me know (unless they are drastic measures!)
UPDATE FROM ABOVE
I've made a few postings regarding the problems I have having trying to get a data conenction up and running and have now received a response from Ovivo which I have pasted below.
It isn't good news!

Dear Customer
Thank you for your enquiry regarding your internet issues. We have had an response from our support team who have advised the following.
The issue you are having is an Android issue we have seen before.
The presence of locked Vodafone settings by some device ROMs, causes all connection attempts with other settings to fail. If the APN backup and Restore application is not able to remove these settings, the device will not be compatible with our service.
The presence of a connection profile, higher up the list is that it will be used as preference by the device.
Only option for the you to would be to take the device to their retailer or direct to manufacturer for support.

So basically, my phone won't work on the Ovivo network and I can't imagine HTC (or Asda) being much help.
For information to others possibly having problems my phone is an HTC Sensation XE running android 4.0.3. and is unlocked from new.
Looking through various postings I can see that HTC phones often appear so maybe it is something particular to them.
My only option is to get a pac from Ovivo and I shall probably move on to 3 with their 321 payg sim.
If anyone else has any ideas please let me know asap.
Many thanks.0 -
@ Neil49, Try a ROM update for HTC Sensation.
Not difficult to do. Plenty of instructions at HTC and Android forums.
A popular place is
http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/htc/htc-sensation/
They also have a tutorial section.
Rooting give the best results but is a bit geeky.0 -

That doesn't make sense, if you bought the phone unlocked from Asda, why would it have locked Vodafone settings installed?
Having said that, it's simple to flash a generic rom without any APNs installed on most android handsets.====0 -
My wife just switched her number from T-Mobile to Ovivo, and now cannot download MMS attachments. The download fails after a minute of trying. We installed the config settings which were sent by Ovivo, and also tried manually entering the APN details for both data and MMS. Still no luck. Has anyone else had MMS problems with Ovivo?
(the phone is a Galaxy Note 2)
Yes I had 2 fail to download last week.
In the 9 months I've been on Ovivo I've only been able to receive 1 picture message.....and I've had 2 phones in that time so it's unlikely to be the handset that's the problem.
I get round it by asking people to email me instead of mms0 -
