I also can't get any information on my account online, I phoned Ovivo a week ago and was told they were working on it and it would be up shortly0

Yes, the reintroduced advertising is very aggressive indeed.
Each ad loaded quick and was dismissed within a few seconds so wouldn't call it aggressive.
I fail to see why people complain about the Ad's when the deal we agree to is in exchange for free calls texts and internet they send us a few Ad'sIt's not just about the money0 -
Free data allowances were increased by 100MB few weeks ago. I still don't get any ads when using data. And now the payment we made when ordering the SIM last for ever as credit. I don't know how Ovivo is going to any make money out of this to keep them going. If they don't the service we all enjoy is doomed!0

I had also had my number transferred from Orange at the same time so maybe a combination of changes has made matters worse.notbritishgas wrote: »Like you I have just had my first monthly reset and also found that the data did not reset to 500mb but stayed at 476mb (also a low user so not too bothered)

NonGeographicalMan: Interesting analysis.
I was thinking of getting the Data Freedom SIM - 750MB for £0 monthly - to replace my Three service. The latter is quite a good deal @ 5GB for £8.69 monthly but I rarely use it so I would hardly notice the drop from 5GB to 750 MB. (It was an MSE promotion a while ago @ £7.50 monthly 'enhanced' by price increases.)
I see there is a change to OVIVO Now when you log on.

I'm guessing this will ease the ad platform.
Has anybody experience of the Ovivo data-only packages?0 -
Me too!Mrs Roger's phone account also shows 476MB. As she has a non-smartphone, she does not use data. We've checked back online day by day for the last month and sure enough, no data usage.
Curious.
Snap! I can't understand why online suggests I've used a bit of data when the sim is in a 10 year old Nokia which is only capable of and used for texts and calls.0 -
Are you saying the Vodafone settings are not there when the Orange sim is fitted ?
If so try running Tweaker with the Orange sim in then swap the sim back to Ovivo and see what happens.
What phone is it, is it unlocked ?
The phone is an HTC Sensation XE running Android 4.0 and is fully unlocked (purchased new as sim free).
I've rerun Tweakker with the Orange sim and then switched back again. Unfortunately the settings seem even more confused now.
When inserting the Ovivo sim again I was prompted to select a carrier but Ovivo is not listed (which is normal). I then ran Tweakker but the problem I get is after stage 2 (write down you settings etc) and continue to APN settings I get the message
Complete action using
APNs
com.android.settings
com.android.settings
i.e the choices are identical
If I select the first option I get the standard listing of APNs linked to Vodaphone (but not Ovivo). If I rerun the Tweakker process and select the second option I get Ovivo and this is selected as the default APN (with the green button).
At this point, if I go back to Home and then access Settings and Mobile Network then select APN I get the standard listing of APNs (as in option 1 above) but Ovivo is not listed. Previously I got the 2 Ovivo APNs + a padlocked Vodaphone one listed.
I think I will go back in via Tweakker and delete the Ovivo APN setup via option 2 and reinput them manually via Settings otherwise I can't view them.
I'm going on holiday this weekend and if I don't get this sorted will the getting a Three 321 payg sim to get some internet access.0 -

If you don't get any ads at all when using data then you either are only using other apps and not web browsing (as the ads only appear in web browsers) or you are using the Android Opera Mini web browser (in violation of their terms and conditions) or you are still using the gprsconnect.com APN rather than the ovivomobile.com APN if that hasn't finally been disabled by now.
The bottom line is that many customers will clearly find they can't tolerate the ads (even if they initially thought they could because the service was free) and Dariush should therefore have low cost pay packages (not the various silly still ad based bolt ons like Whale and Shark which are not value for money and also must have almost no customers) comparable with the latest low cost offerings from Three and GiffGaff in order to ensure that he also retains those customers too.0 -

Could both of you (and any other Ovivo customers out there) see what your remaining data allowanace is by requesting it via SMS (Send "bb free" to 39555) and comparing it with what the website says.
I'm pretty sure it's the website that's wrong and the SMS message gives the correct number, but I can't quite seem to persuade Ovivo to investigate.0 -
My wife just switched her number from T-Mobile to Ovivo, and now cannot download MMS attachments. The download fails after a minute of trying. We installed the config settings which were sent by Ovivo, and also tried manually entering the APN details for both data and MMS. Still no luck. Has anyone else had MMS problems with Ovivo?
