The £15 you pay goes onto the sim as credit (though someone previously said it is now £12.50 credit, less the VAT).

While it says so on their website, I registered a new SIM last Saturday and it show £15 credit on my account.

I registered my sim on Saturday, £15 credit added to my account, (+ another £3 Tuesday for transferring my number, + £3 to my dad for recommending me), awesome service so far!

    Not going to happen.

It's the first point on their porting page.
Once you submit the form with your Porting Authorisation Code (PAC), we will process your transfer request within 2 working hours and send you an e-mail confirmation. If processed before 5pm on a working day, the transfer will be scheduled for the next working day.

I can also confirm that it is the full £15 credited to the account plus £3 for porting my number across and another £3 to my son's account as a referral credit.

My number has ported across successfully today - just took a bit of fiddling to get the internet to work but I got there in the end.

Another user had a similar problem on porting and their CS sorted it out.

The free credit for the payment made when ordering the SIM used to be valid only for 12 months.
Looks like Ovivo has since changed the terms for better. :)

Now the FAQ says, "As long as your account is active, we will not deactivate your account or delete any credit from it."
T&C 5.1 "You may terminate the Agreement by notifying us in writing and any outstanding balance on your Account shall be refunded."

Not sure if this refund applies to free credit.
Anyways, don't know of any other mobile service provider who is so generous as Ovivo. :)

That's not what their FAQ says ....

    Quote:
Does my balance or account expire?

If you don’t use your phone for 60 days, the account will enter a “Suspended” state in our system. This means that you can still use the service, your credit balance is still intact, but you will need to contact us to re-enable your account, which we would do free of charge.

Does anyone know for sure what constitutes 'use' ? for example if it were put in a phone with data left enabled and perhaps collecting emails every now and then would be enough?

Really considering getting one of these now, work has changed my phone to something horrible so I might put one of these in my own smaller phone for odd use, can't imagine high usage so would be ideal.
