Yes data use seems enough. My Ovivo sim doesn't get a lot of use, it has gone up to 3 months without a call or text before, the sim was just left in an android handset and allowed to check email and update apps.

Does my balance or account expire?

If you don’t use your phone for 60 days, the account will enter a “Suspended” state in our system. This means that you can still use the service, your credit balance is still intact, but you will need to contact us to re-enable your account, which we would do free of charge.

T&C 5.4 We reserve the right to suspend the Service if your Account remains inactive for a consecutive period of 60 days. Should you make or receive a chargeable or non-chargeable call/text/data transfer during this period, your account will remain active.

So yeah! what you plan to do would be fine.
BTW. all is not lost even after 60 days of inactivity.

I was having problems using data roaming after downloading the new settings - I couldn't use data except from my own wifi.

Then I used the Tweakker app. This was rubbish for me - it regularly stopped working - but at least had manual settings for my Huawei G300 (Android) phone. I used these (just one change, see below) and now use data roaming perfectly.

Wrong setting from Ovivo's website: APN type: internet

Correct setting from Tweakker: APN type: default,*

Has anybody else come across this problem? Does using a slightly different setting from Ovivo's PDF cause a problem?

I had the same problem, and sorted it the same way after noticing the correct info hidden away in an inconspicuous footnote in Ovivo's own setup guide.

Thanks, but that footnote refers to using default, supl, dun, fota which is different.

I had already tried that without success. The setting at Tweakker (default,) worked.

Perhaps my problem was limited to the Huawei G300?

FYI I just discovered that Ovivo don't currently support Hullomail for voicemail - all voicemail calls will come out of your allowance. If you get alot of voicemail this means you'll use up your allowance alot more quickly. Support for Hullomail been "on their roadmap" for over a year, so if this is important to you then you might want to consider an alternative.

I just had my one-month anniversary with Ovivo. It's all worked absolutely fine, but the strange thing is although the voice and texts were re-set to to 150 / 250 respectively, data has stayed at 496, rather than re-setting to 500.

Not really bothered as I don't use data much, but wondered why?

Where did you get the numbers from?

The website and an SMS query (Text "bb free" to 39555) give different numbers for me, Consistently, the website says I've used about 20Mb more than I really have.

Just had a reply from Ovivo about it, but they just said that the figure supplied by the SMS message was the correctly one but no mention of fixing the website data. I'd be interested in your results.

I have tried various combinations of these settings and am still unable to get a data connection. Present APN settings are their default, supl, dun, fota but I have found that using default, doesn't make any difference whereas switching back to internet messes everything up

The problem for me is that I am unable to remove Vodaphone APN's for Contract and PAYG (they have a padlock sign against them) and these seem to be causing some sort of conflict. It doesn't help that Android versions 4 and above prevents you from removing these so the APN Backup and Restore app is not an option.

I have input the Ovivo settings manually (many times) and have Ovivo as the default APN.

At the moment Ovivo have asked that I email a number of phone setting screen prints for them to check but if anyone has any other thoughts please let me know (unless they are drastic measures!)

Not sure if a typo has crept in there, but the setting that works for me is default,* - i.e. with a final *.
