Ovivo have introduced pay monthly tariffs while retaining the free offer now called 'Freedom'.
The free allowance for Freedom is 150 mins/200 texts/400mb. The £9/£17/£24.50 monthly packages offer a selection of ingredients. Also data plans.
Details at http://ovivomobile.com/offer/ovivo-for-phones/
Redesigned website too.
Wish they had packages for phone calls only. Per minute charges would have been cheaper.
The Data only offer, £5 for 1000 MB, isn't too bad compared to other PAYG data packages on offer.0 -
I am going to join. Can someone PM me a referral so we both get the extra 3 pounds?
Thanks!0 -

I have PM'd you, but AFAIK only the referrer gets the £3 credit, so you don't have a strong incentive to be referred, but very happy if you want to.0 -
I joined ovivo a week before all these changes which is slightly annoying, the package is great if you know you will only use 150 mins and 200 texts, 400 mb of data.
The problem happens if you use more, as then they are not that competative compared to other sim only plans. Also there loyalty scheme is closed till the summer that would have helped ofset these changes.

like to know of other SIM only plans that are competitive.
thanks.
I think what the poster was getting at is should you, for instance, need as little as 200 mins, 300 texts and 500mb data then there are far cheaper deals than Ovivo. Even though you get 150 mins, 200 texts and 400mb data for free, the usage I've posted above would cost you £26/mth with Ovivo!0 -

I set up my Ovivo SIM and have been using it for calls and data with no problem in a Huawei G300.
Yesterday, I had no fewer than SEVEN messages all saying:message_from_Ovivo wrote:We will be sending you the new data settings for your device. Please use PIN: xxxx to install.
Other than setting up roaming (and I won't be using the phone for data roaming), I can't think why I have these new messages with no action seemingly required. Oo er!0 -
If you only needed 200 mins and 300 texts, but 400mb was enough, then Ovivo might still be competitive.
The extra 50 minutes would cost £4 (8p per minute) and you could use Fishtext for the extra 100 texts which would then cost £2. And remember most people don't use all their bundle allowances - they are usually an upper limit, so people who think they may use 200 minutes and 300 texts often use less, so their average monthly cost would be less than £6, say £3.
But the Ibis and Rhino plans are not competitive. I don't know why they got rid of the existing bundles and replaced them with these new "auto-renewing" bundles. They will be left with a customer base of people who normally only need the free allowance (like me) rather than some customers wanting (and paying for) more.0 -
When the free allowance runs out, can't you get an extra 250 mins, voice, 400 texts and 500MB data for £9 ?
No £9 only buys you 250 mins, voice, 400 texts and 500MB data in total, not the free allowance plus 250 mins, voice, 400 texts and 500MB data.
So for £9 the extra (above the free allowance) is only 100 minutes, 200 texts and 100mb.
If you only need the free allowance (for perhaps slightly more on PAYG), Ovivo is fantastic value, but no good for anyone who needs more.0
