Didn't realise you used Ovivo. Any downsides? I have just got my PAC code from Orange which is my spare phone, Vodafone being my main one.
To be honest It's one of my spares so I have access to more than one network etc.
O2 obviously being my main one for work and personal but as I used to have Voda on a payg I swapped that for the Ovivo one.

Never had a problem with them ...the coverage seems exactly the same as Voda and the cost saved is a bonus without having to worry about topping up etc.

When the ad's were on it was easy to skip them and never bothered me when browsing on it

I wonder what the likelyhood is that when the ads come back they'll be 'new and improved', in the sense of less skippable. cf YouTube ads, for example.

Is it still the case that Ovivo is only available for smartphones and other data-enabled devices?

My wife and I are leaving Orange and have our PACs. I've ordered an Ovivo SIM for use with my smartphone, but my wife only has a phone without data and is not (yet?) interested in getting a smartphone.

Can she use Ovivo, or should she use giffgaff or another SIM? Grateful for your advice.

Any phone is fine. It doesn't need to be a smart phone.

As long as you keep under 150 minutes and 150 texts Ovivo beats anything else on offer.

    Bingo! Thanks for this.

I think we'll sign her up, but I'll wait until I receive my SIM to qualify for the £3 referral credit.

Just want to praise the customer service for ovivo. I recently changed my husband to ovivo and ported his number over - unfortunately there were a few minor issues with this (was Orange fault.) Ovivo handled this problem speedily and efficiently and all was sorted within 24hrs of me contacting them. I've just received another call from them to make sure all its well and I'm happy before they close the case.
All in all excellent customer service and must say so far I'm really impressed.
PS I've got no connection whatsoever with ovivo other than a satisfied customer and someone looking to save money.
Massive thanks to all who contribute on the MSE forums, especially on grabbit and competition boards

Have to agree about good customer service, I had problems getting connected and was guided all the way. For a free deal it is great

Ovivo have introduced pay monthly tariffs while retaining the free offer now called 'Freedom'.

The free allowance for Freedom is 150 mins/200 texts/400mb. The £9/£17/£24.50 monthly packages offer a selection of ingredients. Also data plans.

    Details at http://ovivomobile.com/offer/ovivo-for-phones/

    Redesigned website too.
  • They seem ludicrously expensive, even more so when they are shown on the same page as the free offer!
