Er ok, so once his attention was caught, what then. Well the same staff would refuse to come over, and he would have carried on as he did when he finally saw me.
At the risk of going into hypotheticals, atleast you would'nt have waited for 5 minutes. Perhaps, had you called him, things would have worked out differently, however as I say it's all hypothetical

To clarify, what exactly is the point you're making about me calling for him?, how do you suppose that would have changed anything?
See above, you wouldn't have waited for 5 minutes.

As I pointed out before, should I have asked him to check it was dead? asked him to wrap it up, asked him to print a lable on it. At what point do you draw the line where you would go somewhere and expect certain things done without asking (bearing in mind this is usually done)
Fish come into the store dead, so no. And those are things he will (or rather the other person did) do all the time. I would suggest that asking a fish to be de-boned, filleted, cut, de-scaled ad nauseam is fair enough, after all, one customers preference may be different to the next. Perhaps you and I would just do things differently.

'not everyone is Customer focused' = poor service and it is acceptable to be annoyed by it.
Agreed, but what are you going to do about it? Theres little chance of recourse now you've binned the fish, hence my letter suggestion.

I shouldn't have to write letters, ask for gutted fish to be gutted or post here my frustrations. Its just bad service and it annoyed me

I was really looking forward to the fish :(
Fair enough, I also agree it was bad service, I wouldn't have done it that way anyway.

It's not only Tesco that have problems with their fishmongers.

Only last week I bought 1/2 KG of whitebait and when I got home I was disgusted to find that the lazy git behind the fish counter hadn't even appempted to descale or gut any of them.

Too subtle dude, you're wasted on here ;)

When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

I could slap you round the face with a wet kipper if you want??

Seriously..............your life must be sooooo easy if this is all you have to worry/be upset about in life. People have offered you suggestions such as returning it, writing a complaint etc, and still you are not happy. Newsflash: it isn't going to get sorted here! All you are going to get with your posting attitude is an argument...............but then maybe that's what you are looking for after all!

Well its pretty good, thanks. not sure you really thought about the point of the inane comments - but then if you had I guess it wouldn't be inane.

Maybe not, but you did post on a public forum, one on which anyone can post a comment, idea or suggestion.

The way your demeanour is coming across on this board Pixi, I'm not at all surprised that the fish monger ignored you.
What I am only surprised about is that it was only for 5 minutes.

Right, your point is, there is nothing wrong with me saying I didn't ask for advice if I didn't ask for advice. Especially when that advice is being used to suggest I am not listening. I didn't ask for advice.

Yawn, perhaps you could read the thread if you are going to bother wasting your time responding.

As far as demeanor goes, apparently according to one poster, you just have to deal with it. Because people have bad days and you are supposed to ignore them.

I have basically been told that for being annoyed I was served badly is my fault as i didn't do the staff members job for them, check on them etc.

then when I argue that point I get told I wont listen to anyone with a different view.

Well a handful of people have agreed I was badly served, so I will take it that there are just some people out there who are too stupid to know when they are being badly served
