1) work out how to get the up to date info mentioned above without Mr BR having to actually speak to anyone.
2) start looking at a possible PPI claim (which I keep saying I'm going to do)
One of the issues with both these things is that neither of out printers work so I have to ask him to do stuff at work which is less than ideal and sometimes he doesn't have time.
You got a library near you hun? You could print out there quite cheaply.L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -

Nope sorry, although lots of folk on here seem to with mixed results I think. What sort of stuff are you thinking of selling , I am having reasonable success with ebay although alot of that has been with the girls old clothes.
I'm really glad the CCCS have adjusted things for you. Im really sorry I still ahvent had a chance to read your other thread. I hope you are feeling a bit better though.
I think you need to at least have a go at this PPI claim if you can get access to a printer. Anything is worth a try and you may be succesful. Have you looked at Freecycle to see if anyone is getting rid of a printer ? Its not something I have used but I know that DFW uses them quite alot with some success. Been having a bit of a trauma today as I realised that we're not going to be able to afford to go to a family wedding down south next year that we *have* to attend.
Mr BR says it'd ok, we'll managed, we always do...but I don;t see how.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Oh BR,
The wedding is next year, so much can change in a year, it really can.
Please try not to worry about something that is so far away, I know its easy for me to say. I am sure you will find a way , and not only go but actually enjoy yourself as well.

do you know how much it will cost to attend? you could start putting money away each month now (perhaps money that you earn separately from wages etc) make it a bit of a challenge for yourself? If you book hotels etc early i bet you can get a good deal at a cheapish one too? xxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Hello Rose, nice to hear from you again.
I was wondering how things were going.
I actually wrote a reply last night and lost it because the forums closed for maintenance. *sigh*.
I think there are a few things to consider here... if it's a 'have' to attend, do both of you have to go?
You need to look at all the costs and there may be ways to reduce some. Could you reuse or hire clothes rather than buying specially? Could you get cheaper travel by booking very early? Keep an eye open on Groupon for hotel deals and similar. The gift is obviously an expense but again by planning early you may be able to reduce that a lot.
Once you have a clear idea of costs, that's the time to make a plan. Both or one of you to go? Neither to go but send a gift? Then see if there's a way to set aside a little at a time.
I think if you posted here for links, people would soon come up with specific cost-cutting ideas.
As Pinot says, a lot could change in the year. You could even find yourselves adding a few days and having a holiday! You never know. If you were working that might suddenly jump closer, but I realise that can't be magicked out of the air. If you can't do it, once you've looked at all the costs, then you can't. A really nice letter to say you would have loved to be there but unfortunately something has come up that you can't do anything about, should cover it - especially if sent in good time and tons of good wishes for the happy couple.Miggy
