Your son does not really care two figs about driving lessons, a lap-top or or or .

    He wants to be respected.

    And you humiliate him.

The pair of you are engaged in a nasty little game.

if you want it to stop, then stop.

I dont think fault comes into it really. I think you and your Son are so much alike that you might rub each other up the wrong way.

There is no such thing as a perfect family, anyone that says there is must live alone.

Some people simply naturally feel more envy than others. It could be an inherent part of his makeup.
If that's the case, then he can be taught how to manage it. It's harsh, but for you to be an "ideal mother", it doesn't matter how you feel about it, what he thinks about your parenting skills or generosity, or the "great mum" markers like him show up for Mother's Day and Christmas, it's teaching him to live happily with himself and leading a decent life.

Out of all this I want what is best for my son, I would clearly lay my life down for him if needed but also flip the coin I see that son has demands that cannot be met, he is intelligent and beautful his behaviour not so

And do go over and read the threads about narcissism.

You need to live your life

And to stop trying to live your son's life or to live your life through him.

If you want to be happy do what makes you happy, but do not impose on your son responsibility for making you happy.

And do not allow your son to impose on you the responsibility for making him happy.

Until you both learn some proper boundaries this will go on and on.

So start by taking full adult responsibility for being happy on Christmas Day, whether your elder son chooses to be present or not.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
