Damn, I am trying to get off the LLU because it is interfering with gaming during peak hours :wall: :(

The only snag is that I have to sign up by Saturday to get it at this price.

Offer now extended - now until 30 April: http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/bundle-8mb-at.html

LLU = Local Loop Unbundled, where ISPs install their equipment next to BT equipment in the exchange. So you connect though your ISP's LLU equipment at the exchange.

Aren't all ISP's using their own LLU equipment or do some still use BT equipment in exchanges ??

Why would LLU affect gaming ??

No, visit samknows and enter your exchange name to see which if any LLU operators are currently available.

not a bad price. Im with tiscali on the same package and pay 19.99 a month. however, i only ever get dl speeds of 2.2 mb probably becasue of my exchange. you can leave the phone contract whenever you want but the broadband will run for 12 mnths.
whenever ive contacted cs i only ever got uk centres ( i contacted cos i moved banks and they didnt set up dd, subsiquently had large bill to pay, mini moan).
    hope this helped

    Hi BaronBaldwin

Just done the necessaries with Tiscali to get the package (after speaking to a rep because the package change server crashed - is this a sign of things to some???). You might want to talk to them and see if they will reduce your fees to £17-99/month as that is the current price (worth an ask at any rate!).
Also, after speaking to the customer reps a few times, it appears that the contract starts from when you originally started with them (April last year in my case) and so you're on a one-month rolling contract and can leave everything with the usual 30-days notice.
How accurate that is remains to be seen, but I'll give it a go.
Now for the down-side. To get the Max package, you have to pay them the line rental as well (which is £10-99/month as opposed to BT's £11-99/month).
So your £17-99/month Max package will actually cost you nearer £30, but at least it's unlimited which is better than TalkTalk's 40GB/month limit for slightly cheaper.

Still looking for someone else though, although no probs so far.

Anyone recommend a good, unlimited, quick ISP with a cheap phone package......?

Sorry you dont have to move your line rental to them to get the £17.99p broadband/call package, and BT,s line rental is only £10.75p a month (paperless billing).

From memory, if you go through their website to update your package, there is a line that says you have to move your line rental to them to get the full package.

    From their website :-
Tiscali Max and Anytime Talk - special offer
    Up to 8Mb Broadband
    Unlimited monthly usage
All home phone calls to UK landlines† included
Tiscali Line Rental required for £10.99 a month

And a little bit further on :-
    Up to 8Mb Broadband
    Unlimited usage*
All home phone calls to UK landlines† included
Low cost rates on all other home phone calls
    Keep your existing phone number
    FREE itemised billing

To qualify for this offer, you must take up Tiscali Line Rental for £10.99 a month. This will be added automatically as part of this order.

I think this depends on new customers only does it not?

I am old customer, and now have this 18 quid a month package exluding line rental which is charged by BT.

Havent read through the whole read but the free line rental apparently will only come with the tv package, 2mb broadband and free calls at the start of May.
