I spoke to someone in the south of England and after speaking to them i decided to stay as she fully explained what the problem was and apologised it was clearly explained previously.
i think the majority of call centres are in India etc but seems they have possibly 1 in the UK.
I'm seriously thinking of taking the offer as it is good deal.
FUP = Fair usage policy
No worries about the above i'll just use the OH internet and do my major downloads there.
I don't know how you managed that because most of their cancellations are also routed through an Indian call centre, using typical software used by most companies who also have overseas call centres (the same horrid hold music etc).
Tiscali are AWFUL and I'd avoid them like the plague anyone that is considering going with them. I've only just managed to escape!0 -
I think I should point out at this present time that Tiscali as a company has been put up for sale.
Hopefully whoever buys them out will improve the customer service ect.
As A note I only ever had one problem with them. That was when they sent me a reset password for my email account to the same email address as the reset password was for. Got that sorted out quickly.
I am with them on Broadband and are somethimes naughty on the FU side of things downloading when they say I shouldn't but have got away with...so farThe more I live, the more I learn.

I've been with tiscali for over 18months with their 2mb broadband package, it was £17.99 when i joined but has since bropped to £14.99 but they're still charging me the higher rate. does anyone know when the prices of the broadband packages changed? and what would be my chances of getting a refund for the time i was being over charged?0

Spoke to Tiscali again today re the Broadband package for £19.99 and it appears it won't be on general release until Feb now!!!0

I too had this info sent to me at the end of last year, I spoke to Tiscali today asking how I move to this package, they told me it's not available until late Jan/early Feb and then they will write/email all their customers giving details on how to get it, they will also advertise it on their website for new customers.0

MajorR you can change your package instantly on Tiscali's website to benefit from their reduced prices, although you technically will be on the same package you will be paying less. As for getting a refund I doubt it but if you threaten to cancel you never know.
The trick is log on to their website once a week to see if there are any new cheaper packages available as I did, I pay £12.98 for up to 1meg fine for my needs.
Hope this helps

Hi all,
Does anyone know when the Tiscali £19.99 for 8MB Speed+line rental deal will be available?
I was hoping it would on their website today (1st Feb), but there's no sign of it.
Does anyone know of any similar deals?
I'm looking for a cheap but decent Phone+BroadBand.
Thanks for you help.

cheap doesnt always equal 'decent', you get what you pay for with broadband!
http://www.thinkbroadband.com has a great ISP comparison service, could be worth checking that out0
