    Hi all,
Does anyone know when the Tiscali £19.99 for 8MB Speed+line rental deal will be available?
I was hoping it would on their website today (1st Feb), but there's no sign of it.
Does anyone know of any similar deals?
I'm looking for a cheap but decent Phone+BroadBand.
    Thanks for you help.
    NZ.

On trial at moment expected to be launched Feb 2007.

  • Be carefull of tiscali 8Mb, I live less than 1/4 mile from the exchange in a bigish city, and still cant get more than 2Mb. I signed up for 8Mb August last year and was paying them £17.99 for months after they kept promising "next month it will be 8Mb" so I downgraded to £14.99 for what service I was actually getting.(2Mb.)

Unfortunatley they deleted my direct debit details when I did it seems, and are now threatening to take it to court! I have only recieved 2 'red' letters for an amount now near £100, so like last month, after the first red letter, I checked in the members area on their website and it says:

"You are paying by direct debit." and:
"You are not currently subscribed to any of our monthly services".

I keep telling them their 0870 customer service number (india) is a waste of time and wont be ringing them on that.

I refuse to pay in any way for their mistakes when I have been with them for almost 3 years!

They DO cut you off if you don't pay for whatever reason, usually within minutes of not getting a payment, so how come I'm still connected?!

Anyone else had a similar problem or managed to sort this mess out?
  • Another thing I should of mentioned, if you do try and change a Tiscali BB service, be sure they DON'T include a call package with your 'order'.
When I upgraded to 2Mb from 1Mb (all those eons ago!) I was asked if I wanted one of their call packages, I specifically said NO, but they still included it.

I was totally unaware of this untill BT sent a letter asking if they could 'release' the line to Tiscali, so quite annoyed I phoned BT and said I had NOT authorised anything except Tiscali BB on the line. So emailed Tiscali about the problem and as usual, they never replied (they always want you to hang on the 0870 number for ages for a 2 minute fix) but in the end they sent the wrong details to BT so they couldn't release the line.

(I did mention ofcom and a few other governing bodies! ;) )

I think £19.99 deal will be for 2Mb Broadband, not 8Mb.

    Just spoke to Tiscali.
The offer was due to start in Jan, but has been delayed slightly due to problems with the lines (maybe BT being awkward).
Initially it will be offered to selected customers.

    The £19.99 offer is for:
    -2Mb Broadband
    -Line Rental
    -All landline calls

    Avoid Tiscali.

I was on their 1mb internet only service and most of the time it was 56k-esque.

The trick is log on to their website once a week to see if there are any new cheaper packages available as I did, I pay £12.98 for up to 1meg fine for my needs.

    How's that then ??
How long have you been with Tiscali ??

Are you still on introductory period with Tiscali or is it permanently fixed at £9.99 ??
