Has anyone used this yet? Do they just go ahead and change your account or are there additional steps after you fill the form in?
Some of their branch staff don't know about it, or there are delays getting the information through the online version. Upgraded my mum's online, be she was told by their branch staff she had to phone up to upgrade it and spent 35 mins on the phone. She was not too happy.0 -
It is a bit annoying you have to ring up for some things with Halifax. So much for online banking. They have no secure messaging system like other banks have. They can always deny the existence of phone calls where as a record can be kept of written messages. No doubt it's a commercial thing so they can try sell products or talk you out of closing your account/transferring elsewhere. They always try and flog me their crummy current account whenever I have to ring up. It seems opting out of marketing doesn't count if it's you ringing them.0

I have to say that in all the years' I've banked with them, on the occasions that I've had to call them, no one's ever tried to sell me anything. I'm also very happy with their Reward Current accounts, as between myself and OH, I earn £30 a month for just moving £1,000 around. I agree, they're not perfect, but on the whole, my experience with them has been quite good (I'll probably be kicking myself for speaking too soon now!).0 -
Just trying to clarify something regarding the extra 0.2%
I rang up and transfered my current Halifax ISA to this new one today. I pay over £1000 into my current account each month so qualifty for the extra 0.2%. Few questions regarding it:
1) My ISA was opened before the Jan 10 deadline (the orginal one, although i have changed it a few times) mentioned in the pdf form on there website, so do i have to fill it in to get the 0.2%
2) When will the 0.2% start from? When they get the form or backdated when i opened the ISA?
3) Cant i do it on the phone? They can see my bank details on the computer, so would save time0 -
I've got a new Halifax ISA Direct Reward and will be wanting to pay into it across the year from my A&L (now Santander) current account.
The information I have from Halifax is the Sort Code, Account Number and Roll Number. The information A&L want when setting up the Payee on my online banking are the Payee Name, Sort Code, Account Number and Customer Reference.
Account Number and Sort Code go without saying but is the Payee Name "Halifax ISA" or "my name" or "roll number" or something else? And is the Customer Reference "my name" or "roll number" or something else?0 -

Put your roll number as Customer Reference, although this is no longer required by Halifax's system.0 -

It's a rip-off. Read the small print. When you transfer out after a year you lose 180 days' interest.
That's 6 months, Sunshine !0 -

That's 6 months, Sunshine !Early closure permited - you will lose an amount equal to 180 days' interest, calculated on the rate at which interest is paid on your accountUnlimited number of withdrawals. No notice required. Minimum withdrawal £10. If your account balance falls below £1 the Halifax ISA Saver Direct variable interest rate and account conditions apply to your account from that date.
I assume you'll be along shortly to confirm that you realise that you're wrong.0 -

I'll be keeping my eyes on this thread - if this is true there is no way im transferring my ISA to Halifax.. I have already opened the ISA pending all funds showing up in my existing ISA, however I wont be transferring until we clear this up.0
