There's no option to fund this ISA on online banking so how do I fill it up on April 6? I tried ringing but stuck on hold for ages so gave up!0

If the money's coming from another Halifax/Bank of Scotland account, then just use the 'Quick Transfer' box at the top of the 'My Accounts' page.
If it's coming from another bank, then set up a bill payment from that account, using the Halifax ISA's sort code and account number.0 -

Ok thanks. That was my plan but thought there would be a more direct way as there always has been with my other ISA suppliers in previous years.0 -

You should be able to do a BACS transfer from any on-line or phone banking.
You just need the sort code and account number.
That's how I plan to do it.0 -
I have just opened one of these accounts.
I have 2 ISA's currently with Barclays, so I've completed 2 ISA transfer forms and sent those off today!
So, am I right in thinking now ... everything is just simple and in a few days the money will go from my Barclay ISA's to my new Halifax one and then .. Come April 6th, I can just drop into my local Halifax branch and pay in a cheque every month til I use this years allowence up?
(I'm a newbie to all this changing lark! I've been with Barclays all my life and I've usually just done everything by transfering online)0 -

You could. Alternatively use of Faster Payments / BACS online from your current account would be a good thing (or if it's a Halifax Reward account a transfer - remember that account can earn you £5 a month plus 0.2% extra on the ISA).
Thanks for the very fast reply!!0 -
Mrs Kar is a non taxpayer so we haven't normally bothered with Cash Isas in the past and she has 3 x £7k in Lloyds Vantage accounts earning 4% but we recently learnt that the limit in those will drop to £5k at 3% from 27th June. So she will need to find a home for £6k soon. She doesnt want the money tied up for 3-5 years so she's thinking of opening up this Halifax ISA this year now (with some of my "spare" money) and at least get the 3% locked in on £5100 of the £6k and see what's about next tax year in either savings a/cs or ISA's. (She is already an Halifax customer).
I know time is short but we only found out about Lloyds pulling the plug on the 4% tier of the vantage accounts yesterday. I've used my £10.2k already on S&S Isa's for 2010-11.
Does that make sense or is there a better instant saving accout for her paying more than 3%.
Thanks. If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -

Alternatives? Santander and Barclays had ISA rates over 3% last time I looked (but top the complaints league!) and West Bromwich Building Society 3.01% on a non-ISA easy access account.0 -
For Halifax customers (if they have a qualifying account) the ISA 4 will pay 3.2%, so slightly better than the Websaver Reward.0
