Hi Pistachio,
I have one really nasty one on the back of my calf, she said they do get worse but that it's not looking too bad, just advised me to drink plenty of fluids, avoid standing for prolonged periods and to try to maintain a healthy diet to avoid putting too much weight on, pretty much everything we should be doing/avoiding anyway! Worth showing them to your midwife though, as my aunt has had much knottier ones that really caused her trouble, mine is much smaller but it does 'pull' if I'm standing for too long so I'm going to keep an eye on it!0 -
Hi all, i have relogated myself from the pregnancy thread onto this one, went for my 17 week scan yesturday and we had lost the baby but conceived again within the time I had my booking and going to scan so i am no longer 17+4 but am now 9+2. mixed emotions but will be closley monitored and have an apointment nearly every other week until i am due to deliver, I will not be going full term and they will be giving me steroids at 30 weeks because of my history of delivering so early, I had my scan and the squatte is looking ok, a good strong heartbeat and developing nicley, they have put me on one asprin a day and i am not to take multivitamins. I have added myself to the list.
i have just been so sick, and now i need to get the kids ready for school, its going to be a long day i think.

i dont know if the links are working or not i have tried to reply and add them0 -
Blimey lovecrafting that must have been a shock for you! Glad to hear there was some good news in with the sad bits though. It sounds like they're well on top of looking after you and keeping an eye on things. Have you already had other babies that have been early then?
Looks like you've got the links sorted.
Pistachio, I don't normally have a sweet tooth and have had even less so since being pg but DH was eating a mars bar yesterday lunch and I just really fancied one so had some celebrations as I knew I'd never eat a whole mars bar!! I did manage 7 of them though so perhaps I would have lol!!0 -
God I feel rough this morning! I must learn to have all of my breakfast before our morning meeting. i've been trying to have half before and half after like I alwys have but its not working anymore! I just came out feeling sooo sick and had to eat my yogurt from my lunch as I just couldn't wait the 2 mins it takes to microwave my porridge! I honestly thought I would be sick if I waited any longer! It feels so wierd to feel that sick and know that the only thing that will help is eating. Its especially hard when you're feeling that bad in an office full of people and having to try to act like you're all fine!0

Thanks for the lovely welcome all
It seems really surreal to be over here, still trying to get used to the ideaOH told his family last night - they are in London and we are near Manchester so he had to do it over the phone. I wanted him to wait a few weeks but he is way too excited
He spent all of Monday night in shock, hardly saying a word and last night never shut up - think it might have dawned on him :rotfl:
Am very, very tired today - don't remember being like this with DS but it was 6 years ago so memory not as clear as it might beNo MS so far though but it's maybe a bit early for that.
Just as a point on MS, I don't know if it will help anyone but with DS I was literally ill every morning for the first three months - to the point when I had to tell my then boss at 6 weeks because on way to a meeting I had to ask him to pull over car so I could be ill  Anyways, my nan pointed me in the direction of ginger biscuits - they worked a treat for me - might be worth a try?
Am adding myself to list again as I seem to have disappeared

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well.
Was reading through my scan letter last night and realised it didnt say how much I have to drink before hand. Does anyone know please? Got another 2 weeks and 1 day to go! :0)0 -
Hi everyone :hello: Hope you're all well.
Anyone else struggling with eating enough fruit? I'm normally constant sancking on the good stuff, but my nausea just makes most things unappealing I have just forced down some grapes a satsuma and narna, pretty much like medicine!
Laura: I think you'll need a full bladder for the ultrasound to work efficiently, so maybe a pint of water an hour or so before should do the trick0 -

Tip: Take a bottle of water with you, and drink it enroute and in the waiting room. When you "check-in" ask if there is a waiting time, and then pace your drinking accordingly. If you drink it all before you go, it will hit your bladder very early and if you have even a teeny wait, you will be suffering! I learnt this from my first scan, when i was waiting in agony for 50 minutes! In the end i was sent to the loo twice by the sonographer, as my bladder was TOO full..
Also tip: Take some jelly babies with you, as the sugar in them is ideal for getting beanie moving if they are being awkward. They work better than anything else i've tried for my scans, plus it seems kind of apt!

on my letter it said 2 litres but didnt drink as much as that and was fine.0 -
Laura, I'd second the advice to take a bottle of water and drink it on the way there and while you're waiting. When I had my 6 week scan I had a big cup of tea before I went then a big bottle of squash on the way and I was in agony by the time I was scanned!!! My bladder gets uncomfortably full much quicker now I'm further along so I'll deffo be drinking less this time!0
