    i was on the
    600 mins
    ul texts
    1gb internet
    and 3000 v2v mins

that was costing me £15 a month which was reduced to half price because we have XL telephone package with VM. Had this contract for a month then phoned up and managed to hagel the same tariff for £5 a month, well chuffed and its a 30day rolling contract. Will prob get this for other members of the family when their contracts are up.
  • I rang Virgin & asked for my pac code earlier today told the guy I wanted the HTC Wildfire as I'd seen a deal on Talkmobile for £12 a month. Well the best he could come up with was £17  So I looked online a bit, & then rang retentions, got a lovely guy helping me & I now have a Wildfire with 100mins 100 texts & 500mg internet for £10.32 for 18 months. It cost £6 for the handset but he let me off the £7 odd delivery charge. He's even given me 1gb of internet for the next month as my current package has no internet. I know this won't suit a lot of people but I'm a light user & its ideal for me :j

^^ I got a similar package - after the first couple of people being rude I got through to a very helpful guy in Retentions as I was fed up and asked for my PAC code but I got the Nokia C3-01 on 18 month deal for free with free delivery, 100 min, 100 text for £8.21 a month (am already a VM customer with other services). This was exactly the package I wanted, I'm only a light user and don't need an expensive phone, so am very pleased :)
  • Glad to see this thread got bumped up, will be good to hear what deals are currently being offered.
If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x

I rang today for PAC code, and when pushed asked about a Desire S
Best they could do to match what I have now was £25 or so for 600mins/unlimited texts and 1GB

I was then offered 30 day sim only for 600mins/unlimited texts/1gb internet/unlimited virgin to virgin for £5.43 per month.

I took the sim only and will keep my Nokia 5800 till it dies.

    Very Happy :beer::beer:

Thanks for that info, my contract is running out and I also wanted the Desire S. I was hoping for around the £15 mark as it has been on offer on 02 for even less than that. But when I spoke to retentions they couldn't do better than low £20's either. I cancelled my contract but may ring up and go for the 30 day rolling Sim offer and in a few months I expect the phone will go down in price.
However I am also tempted by a £5 GiiffGaff sim as I am a low user. I am looking into this and will decide in a couple of weeks.

I wonder if hey'd let me have that monthly sim for my daughter. She'd be new to Virgin, I was thinking of getting her the £5 a month deal on the website but thats far better. She's only 12 so it would be my account & I have mobile BB TV & home phone.

    WOW that is good.

Watch your bills, I'll bet they don't give it to you for that price. They tell you anything to keep you.

They done the same with the 800 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb internet deal last year. Should have been £20 a month and they offered it for £10 but then everyone kept getting charged the £20 and had to phone up every month to get their account credited. They blamed some IT issue, but it's still going on yet.
