ive just had a virgin mobile retention deal but have not received anything in writing. i told them i was leaving to go to tesco mobile on a £10month contract(24months), 250mins, 500gb of data and plenty of texts(not really bothered about texts) and a new phone. virgin offered me a better deal to stay, £10.53 per month(18month contract), new samsung galaxy ace, 1gb of data and unlimited texts. i accepted deal and new phone arrived yesterday. the only paperwork i have came with the phone stating tariff was £25.53 month and no mention of the data allowance or contract length. they did tell me on the phone that account would be credited £15 per month to bring it down to the £10.53. However, ive got nothing in writing and im concerned that they could renege on this deal or it will be just for a few months. has anyone else had a similar experience and got anything off them in writing.

Mine is the same, the credit appears each month, it's all ok and good with them :)

    3000 texts
    3000 VM to VM mins

    £7.32/month
For me that's less then half what I was paying and ideal for my iphone!
...and then the window licker said to me...

My contract with Virgin mobile runs out in August. I rang them to ask for more texts and they gave me unlimited texts til the end of the month. Also informed me I was eligible for an early upgrade and transfered me to what i suppose was retention department. They transfered me onto a sim only deal knocking me down from £15. to £8.99 a month ( without me asking ). This gives me 125 mins / 2500 texts and 2.5g data.
I'm after the HTC X one which they will be getting the end of May.
Could of got the Samsung Galaxy 2 for £90 for phone and £19.99 for 2 years.
With same package as the sim only listed above but declined

Anybody out there had any experience with retentions lately ?

My contract expires in July. I am after a samsung sii and the best they can offer today is 300 min, 5000 txts and 1Gb data for £21.99 a month with a free phone. I'm not that impressed seeing as the sii has been superseded by the siii and I also have TV and BB with virgin together with 4 other mobile contracts. Am I expecting too much?

To be fair thats not that bad a deal as you can only get better if you go for a cashbacl deal at the moment. That said you could can always push for more.
  • It seems everyone and his dog is offering this phone for £21.00 a month at the moment. I thought that as I was due for contract renewal and I was a valued customer that they might come up with something a bit better.
