Best they could do to match what I have now was £25 or so for 600mins/unlimited texts and 1GB
I was then offered 30 day sim only for 600mins/unlimited texts/1gb internet/unlimited virgin to virgin for £5.43 per month.
I took the sim only and will keep my Nokia 5800 till it dies.
Very Happy :beer::beer:
I was offered that aswell, good deal, but i need a new phone thou.if i had known then what i know now0 -

Well the best he could come up with was £17  So I looked online a bit, & then rang retentions, got a lovely guy helping me & I now have a Wildfire with 100mins 100 texts & 500mg internet for £10.32 for 18 months. It cost £6 for the handset but he let me off the £7 odd delivery charge. He's even given me 1gb of internet for the next month as my current package has no internet. I know this won't suit a lot of people but I'm a light user & its ideal for me :j
My brother got the same deal for £7 month, no haggling they just offered it to him.if i had known then what i know now0 -

Just been on the phone to the retentions team....was offered a HTC Desire S with 300 minutes/300 texts and 1GB internet for £21 a month or £18 a month if I pay £40 upfront. Frustratingly enough, that deal was pretty damn good for me although I needed 100-150 texts more but nothing could be done. Apparently the deal is still on record so the call was concluded without any progress...so I'm not sure how to play it now, whether to go straight in next time and ask for the PAC code or try to haggle for the texts that little bit more....hmmmm...0

Buy the £5 sim only, on 30 day rolling contract, from Virgin. Buy the phone from this deal for £10, http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/newer-htc-desire-s-free-phone-10-00-per-month-for-24-months-unlimited-txts-30-mi/942775.
When you get the phone cancel the Orange phone contract and put in the Virgin sim. May get £50 quidco cashback for the phone. May have to unlock the phone though - unknown at the moment.
If it all works then £240 for phone, but canceling contract after you get it means you have to pay for the phone upfront, but will give you a 20% discount - so you pay £192 for the phone, which works out £8 per month. Plus your £5 sim* = £13 per month for the phone.
Could even be closer to £11 if Quidco pays.
A lot of ifs and buts, as I see it, at worse it would be is around £15 for the phone and Virgin sim.
(*I was quoted £5 for the Virgin sim on a rolling 30 day contact. 200mins, unlimited texts and 1Gbyte data. Less mins but more texts although I am sure you could haggle for 100 extra mins?)
The above offer has expired now, but there was a similar O2 one about a month ago, so I assume there will me more. Just have to keep a lookout.Debts: Virgin Card [STRIKE]£5,600[/STRIKE] £5,636, First Direct [STRIKE]£7,700[/STRIKE] £7,000, Halifax [STRIKE]£3,200[/STRIKE] £3,810, Halifax Clarity [STRIKE]£755[/STRIKE] £711, Tesco [STRIKE]£4,005[/STRIKE] £4,450, MNBA [STRIKE]£6,700[/STRIKE] £6,580, Loan [STRIKE]£15,834[/STRIKE] £15,218 Total: [STRIKE](45K at highest) £43,794k[/STRIKE] £43,4050 -
Hi,
they called me today, first they offered 15 a month for 500 mins unlimited texts and 1gb mobile web.
I declined and haggled to get 7.50 a month for the same amount on a 12 month contract with 1 month free. plus 15% off a month.
thus I'll be paying roughly £5.85 a month. of course this is without a phone, but Im still happy with my nokia n900. really happy with that.0 -
Hi all
Just thought I'd drop in and let you know what I was offered and to ask whether or not it is good.
600 Mins
Unlimited Texts
1GB Data
Unlimited Virgin to Virgin calls
with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - £25.xx on an 18month deal or £20.xx on a 24. I have accepted the 18 month offer at the moment and I have 14 days to play with the phone. To be honest I think I might send it back and just revert to a sim only especially if I can get one of those £5.xx deals mentioned earlier. If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x0 -
Looks a fairly good deal that. What phone do you currently have and what contract are you currently on? Do you go over your allowance?
I'm intrigued as you seem to have been offered a phone of similar value to the one I'm after/have been offered but the comparison between your £20 a month offer and my £18 a month offer is quite a lot....plus I have to pay a small sum for the phone too...0 -
Plus I don't get how some people have been called directly yet I've had to do the chasing myself and call them twice to discuss it. It doesn't particularly bother me too much but I'm just interested in how its worked out like that.0
