Hey well done you !!!
I rang virgin mobile again today to see what i could get and the deals for me haven't changed...for a Desire HD i can have...
150 mins / 250 texts / unlimited web over 18 months and have to pay £77 for phone..£15.32 a month (my fave at the mo)
or
150 mins / 150 texts /unlimited web over 24 months,free phone £15.53 a month.
I pushed them on the texts but they wanted £179 for phone then which is stupid.
Other deal is 1000 mins / unlimited texts and data and free phone for £25.53 a month over 24 months.
Gonna ring up Monday AM and ask again. I've also got phones 4 u ringing me PM Monday as they're doing T-mobile 900mins / 500 texts and unlimited web for £25.53 and the bloke said i could have a month free.
Anyone know if that month free would be a retention thingy..don't fancy all that tarting around sending off bills !!

ah i wouldnt know the answer to that sorry. I was just going to say when you ring ask to be put through to -upgrades team- i put onto three different people and eventually when i asked - is this the upgrades team- the final bloke said yes! they are the only ones who can apply any kind of discount so dont waste your time like i did with anyone else!
your getting the HD version so maybe they arent able to budge as much on the price.
I enquired about the Nokia C7 as i like Nokias but he said it was too new to take to £15. But am Completely happy with whatI got and it will be here in a few hours. impressed with the fast service.
good luck with getting yours and let us know how you get on!!!

Hi everyone
Spoke to virgin today as my contract was up.
In the end I paid £100 for the phone and got...
300 mins / 300 texts / unlimited data for £15.64 a month for 18 months. Didn't want a 2 year deal as 2 years is a loooong time !!
Good luck with your deals !

Hi,
Just letting everyone know how I got on with Virgin Mobile retentions today...
I've had a monthly-rolling SIM only contract with them for 3 and a half years, 300 mins & 300 texts for £10 per month (I know, I know, rubbish by today's standards!) and I decided it's high time that I got a better deal. (I should mention that my household are Virgin Media customers.) I rang them earlier and told the man that I was going to cancel unless they could offer me a deal that I was happy with. I want a HTC Desire and, at first, they claimed that they didn't have any in stock and that they could only offer the Wildfire but, after saying that I would just go elsewhere, they magically 'found' a Desire.
After much haggling, deliberation, and telling them I would just go elsewhere countless times, I eventually got offered a HTC Desire with:
600 any network minutes
3000 Virgin to Virgin minutes
Unlimited texts
1gb data (internet)
For £14.53 per month with a free handset.
The only downside is that it's a 24 month contract but I'm really pleased considering that this was exactly the tariff & phone I wanted. This contract from them is normally £25.53 per month plus £100 for the handset so it's a massive saving.
I did have to push an awful lot to get this, but I'm very glad I did. Just be polite and speak with a smile on your face, it can work wonders!
Good luck!
Ggrr I just tried as am on same deal as you were and constantly going over on my texts!! We are Virgin Media with XL TV, phone & broadband but he wouldn't go lower than £20.43 rang the 0800 number someone mentioned too but nothingWill hold out and try again though

Hi jkb,
I am a Virgin Media customer but only have home phone & broadband with them. I called 789 from my mobile and pressed the option for 'do you want to change or cancel your contract'. I only spoke to one person. It did take a lot of pushing and I was on the phone for about 45 minutes but they can go that low and it doesn't seem fair that only I would get that deal and no one else. Keep pushing and good luck.

Hi, I phoned Virgin to get both my daughters a phone and have been offered the following deals:
DD1: HTC Desire, 200 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb Internet and free v-v calls £15 a month 24 month contract
DD2: Blackberry curve, same mins as Desire for £14 a month 24 month contract
I am a virgin customer and one of my girls has a sim only contract and the oldest has come to the end of three contract. Three wont even offer the HTC wildfire at that price so have cancelled her contract. I know the Desire is a good deal but is the Blackberry deal any good?0 -

How did you get through to the SAVE TEAM - what number did you dial. Really miffed as we have been on Virgin mobile for years always ordered phones direct with them, have had TV, broadband & landline with them for years too and they won't budge0
