Hi Guys
My first mobile contract is up on the 13th so i logged on to Virgin and rang their renewals team and told them that i wanted to leave as i'd seen a deal with phones 4 u for a t-mobile desire HD 900 mins and 500 text andunltd data £25 a month for 24 months. They offered me 1000 mins, unltd data and texts for same price. Then...offered me 150 mins and 150 texts and unltd data for £15 !! Then if i pay £77 i get the same deal but 250 texts on an 18 months deal. Prob gonna take it. Does this sound good to you guys ? Not tried the 'i'm gonna leave' tactic in case they say 'okay then bye !'
Joe
i think that sounds really good.
I'd love the desire. but all the are offering me for the moment for £16 is the wildfire with plently of calls/texts and gb. I'm holding out as mine is up on the 11th.0 -

Virgin's customer service sucks. They offer good deals... shame that they can't actually stick to them without having to phone them every month to get your money back (cause they won't phone you).

By the time the 11th comes around you could get a good deal. I was paying £18 a month..Very rarely going over..good luck !!0 -
Hi,
Just letting everyone know how I got on with Virgin Mobile retentions today...
I've had a monthly-rolling SIM only contract with them for 3 and a half years, 300 mins & 300 texts for £10 per month (I know, I know, rubbish by today's standards!) and I decided it's high time that I got a better deal. (I should mention that my household are Virgin Media customers.) I rang them earlier and told the man that I was going to cancel unless they could offer me a deal that I was happy with. I want a HTC Desire and, at first, they claimed that they didn't have any in stock and that they could only offer the Wildfire but, after saying that I would just go elsewhere, they magically 'found' a Desire.
After much haggling, deliberation, and telling them I would just go elsewhere countless times, I eventually got offered a HTC Desire with:
600 any network minutes
3000 Virgin to Virgin minutes
Unlimited texts
1gb data (internet)
For £14.53 per month with a free handset.
The only downside is that it's a 24 month contract but I'm really pleased considering that this was exactly the tariff & phone I wanted. This contract from them is normally £25.53 per month plus £100 for the handset so it's a massive saving.
I did have to push an awful lot to get this, but I'm very glad I did. Just be polite and speak with a smile on your face, it can work wonders!
Good luck!0 -
you did really well to get that!! good for you!!0

Thank you, I'm really pleased. Never expected to get a deal quite that good, just shows how low they really can go. I did try to push lower than that but they weren't having it! How did you get on with them in the end?0 -
They still say i can't do anything untill 11ith so they are calling me saturday!
I may try to ask for what you have as thats really good. and I can only ask! its weird as me n hubby took out contracts - both in my name and from my bank - on the same day but his was ready for upgrade ages ago!!!0 -
Well I wish you the best of luck. I knew the tarrif I wanted and told them that I had been offered a Desire on that exact tarrif for £13 per month (not true, of course, I was just pushing my luck!), at first they said that it was impossible (and even I was thinking that it was impossible!) but eventually after lots of uming and ahing, much to my surprise, they just gave in! They offered a few inferior phones and tariffs first but I kept saying 'it's not good enough, I will just go elsewhere'. Obviously they are terrified of losing customers so make it clear that you will just change to another provider. Let us know how you get on and don't hold back, keep pushing and pushing until you get the deal you want!0

well mines up now. Hubby has already changed down to sim only as he is happy with the phone and wants to get a good one in the summer
me..well i've been to the o2 shop in town where they have all the phones out to play with - so much fun! anyway.... I've looked at others than these and now I like the Nokcia C7 the best then Nokia N8 and then HTC Desire with the Wildfire as a last resort! will see what they have to say when i call them this arvo after work :-)0 -
