Afternoon all and welcome to anyone new joining in.
Jane you have my sympathy - as if you didn't have enough going on without hormone fluctuations to add to the garbage. This is a good place to come even if you dont feel like posting, just reading other posts from like minded sufferers can give you a bit of a lift.
Well nedless to say my "glass" of wine caused a few flushes and a little anxiety through the night but I expected it and knowing that it will pass with some deep breathing makes it a bit easier. I just hate that initial pounding in the chest when you wake through the night until you calm down.
Hope everone has a good day - at least it is dry here and I an actually see some sky

    Hi all

We're happy to keep this one open provided everyone sticks to discussion about the MoneySaving aspects of going through the menopause and doesn't suggest medical remedies.

    Thanks!

aaah thanks Glad. Sorry, I think I strayed a bit. I really appreciate the support in here, which I see as a form of ad lib group therapy/ support (wrong phrase i know!!) and therefore very MSE.
Hope everyone is having a relaxed Sat evening.

Have you posted that aimed at a particular post? (if so it would be good to know who/which post) or is it a general post? again, I would ask is that caveat routinely posted on the Depression/alcohol threads?

Feels like we are walking on eggshells here and yet others dont seem to have the same constraints imposed.

Feeling much better today, sun is shining, house is reasonably clean and tidy, kids are not arguing.....ooh, and I have just had my first mince pie, I love em!!

Seems this thread was really needed, welcome to all the new posters, the more the merrier.

The supplements I ordered will apparently take 5-10 working days as they are despatched from the Channel Islands, so it seems neither I nor teachergirl will be dancing around the classrooms next week,.....maybe the week after?

I might just dance around the room without them BUT with my mood swings woebetide anyone who laughs:eek:

My day started off so well with a nice walk into town to pick up some bits for tea. Hubby off on a bike ride and kids shut in their rooms.(both teenagers.) I felt really happy After some hours washing ironing cooking, emtying bins etc etc I begun to wonder if I am the only one in the family without a life! Hubby was out for 12hours on his bike!!!!!!(On the sofa now unable to move and never doing it again:rotfl:-I think he is trying to recapture his youth.) I bit his head off when he came through the door.:oJust like poet123's post I really wanted to being doing other things ,like the garden or anything other than cleaning and ironing.
Sorry ladies just having a moan. Both kids then went out, so tea was wasted and I am a taxi service.:(
Didn't sleep well either, can you tell????

Hopefully normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D

I seem to get to sleep now but wake really early - 3.30am & don't really get back off to sleep. As I've said previously I don't know how others manage to work 9-5pm - I feel exhausted & my energy levels at an all time low. Just as well we run our own business & can kinda shift work about..but the paperworkis fairly piling up. Really need to do the accounts.

Hi all...and a big welcome to all the newbies....!:D

Hope everyone's had a nice Saturday. I've been out shopping again with my DD...it never ends...I always seem to be out shopping. Its been a lovely day here ..sunny and quite warm. The skys were grey for a while, but it didn't actually rain.

Watched quite a lot of TV this evening, which I don't normally. I've been watching Pillars of the Earth, which I find really engrossing. I'm normally on here non stop, doing comps!

I had a good nights sleep last night...although just as I was drifting off ...I felt like I couldn't breathe, very scary. I don't get these attacks very often, luckily...but they can be very nasty.

Hope the weathers not too bad tommorow, as I hope to get up to the allotment.

Nite nite everyone. Hope its a good one!

I echo poet's concerns. I feel we need very specific clarification.

eg. Would sharing with others the supplements we take be a breach of the rules?

As the menopause is primarily about physical, mental and emotional discomfort, could all discussion and sharing be construed as 'medical'?

I am genuinely confused and unclear. A quick look on the depression thread shows blatant discussion and advice given regarding medications. Could it be explained why this goes unchallenged?

I am not being disrespectful or confrontational here.

I would appreciate a response to the above questions and issues as I too, feel we are walking on eggshells.

It'll be scrubbed if we query it............

Thing is, as we said before, meno is natural transition time - all we are discussing is what is aiding us. The medicalisation of a natural time in most women's lives is not what I am advocating, nor most people on this thread - when we had a 'discussion' about this earlier - the thread was pulled.
Menopause was described by the mods as a medical condition - I argued that in my opinion it is not - thread was pulled.
Because everyone is different, not one herbals remedy, potion, pill or spell works for everyone - what we are doing is saying what works for us & what doesn't. The having a moan & comparing how we feel, are, sleep etc - makes us feel 'normal' & human.
