ooh itchy skin..like ants crawling all over you!! My daughter who is training to be a nurse told me about laser ablation...don't know if it would be helpful to anyone, it's done as day surgery at the hospital.

Yes, I've had the laser ablation too.

    Hi everyone,
Hope you've all been well today. I've felt ok. I had a good nights sleep although I have been having some very strange dreams lately!
Lets hope that everyone has a good night tonight...with not too many problems.

    Morning to all MM's.

It's unseasonably warm at the moment isn't it. The heating's gone off in my house. Just me here anyway so no-one to complain :T

I've had the bedroom window open to get a nice waft of cool air in the night.

Could be the clocks going back I guess, but have been waking up at 5.15 ish the last few mornings. The alarm is set for 6 but it's rare that I'm asleep when it goes off normally.

PS, the jury is still out on the magnet thing

    Morning All,

Soggy but warm. Not me, the weather.

Hope all is well in meno land and even if you're not feeling too good the spirit is cheerful ish. :D

Not much to report. Sleep ok ish. Am experimenting with not taking my usual v small amounts of sleeping pill & although I can be awake for 3 hrs at a stretch I can total about 6 hrs in all, which is manageable. The flushes at night are lighter which helps a lot of course.

Doing some deep 'trigger point' self massage on painful back, and it's easing things a bit. :)

Had a thought. In about 7 weeks time the days start getting longer.....

Here's to a good day

not too bad a night last night can only assume the herbals are kicking in yaay. mind u i am a holy terror in mood so maybe not, i fear for my hubs safety right now lol

    ablation here too

jofull i can never get on with just conditioner as my hair seems to go all limp maybe its the type i use. glad the massage is working a bit, i really need to re arrange my acupuncture appointment as i had to cancel it 2 weeks ago and boy do i know it

i thought the blood test wasnt terribly reliable as womens hormones fluctuate so much all the time. u need to discuss it in more detail with your dr for the best advice

    have a good day all

Sun shining here and a bit breezy so the tops of the bigger trees are swaying. Lovely to hear the rustle of leaves.
Have upped the amount of water I'm drinking and make a conscious effort to keep a glass of water handy.
I'm going to head for the library later. I'm in the mood for escapism these days. Nothing too heavy. Didn't get on with the Booker prize winner and of course have completely forgotten his name. Put that book back anyway instead of struggling on with it.
Off to google foods good for the meno. Think turkey-lurkey must be a good one as I think it's up there in the mood foods. I have its smaller cousin, chicken, on the menu at the moment following Sun's large roast.
Have a good day folks - thinking of those who are feeling down, sore, anxious and unslept. My sister (who has come through the other side :D) says don't forget that your body really wants to sort all this out and it is on your side.

  • Evening all...still nothing from simply supplements:( Back at work and the lack of sleep is making me grumpy. Awake at 5.00am this morning.

I have read lots about how exercise can help with symptoms and apparently, if you do weight bearing exercise(?) it will stop weight gain in meno times. I have been testing out this theory since February when I started trying to get fit partly to do with meno symptoms. It definitely does help lift your mood(all those natural endorphins) however I am just wondering how much worse it would be if I wasn't doing loads of exercise:eek:

Spirit are you trying the magnet thing then??? I will be interested in an update.
Am still following the thread even if being back at work means I may not get to post as much.
    Sleep well everyone
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D

Ho hum! Don't metion weight to me  I've been making a particular effort (for me!) with exercise over the past 3 weeks, 40 mins uphill on the treadmill and 20 mins on the weight machines every other day, in the hope it will keep matters under control. Not killing myself, but making an effort iykwim and drastically cutting back on my glasses of wine. So why I have I put 3 pounds on this week then?

The weight issue is a real bugbear for me, as it packs on around my middle and I hate it! I upped the exercise because I fear putting more on over the winter as I did last year ( and struggled for months to get off in the Spring.). I maintained nicely over the summer but had a blip mid August and have put on about 10lbs since then . I feel as though I need to be on a permanent diet just to maintain, even though I eat healthily most of the time....just too much obviously. Deep sigh.
