Hiya everyone,
1am, slept for 3 hrs & woken drenched. Cannot sleep. so have put a wash on (Very MS :money:- low electricity tariff), made a weak cuppa & come to catch up with my lovely meno friends.:D
Thanks for all your interested comments re. my park home situation. The rally in london & accompanying lobbying mps, and then meeting for hour and half with many other mps, went fantastically. BBC were there, but didn't make news. Simon Hughes spoke for some time to us all (about 150 of us from park home sites from all over UK) & gave us some hope that the ball will start rolling re. stopping the criminal and unscrupulous behaviour of a number of powerful site owners who are robbing us and making lives a misery.
The palace of w'minster is amazing. Security is impressive. Saw Nick Clegg close up - quite tall but pale & looks like he needs a good brisk walk in the countryside. Coffee, top quality but cheap. Was a long day but so glad I went. Wish others (my neighbours) would get off their backsides, get their heads out of the sand, and support us.
Choille - saw your blog. Wow, what a beautiful place you live in. Sorry about the aches & pains, specially as you have such a physically demanding life. Keep warm.
Annie - welcome, so glad you found us.
vyvyan - welcome to you, yes it's good to know you're not alone.
Shykins - sorry you felt not so great y'day. HUGS & hope today is much better.
poet - keep us posted about the supplement thing. I'm spending (another) fortune - jury's out still.
spirit - yeah, the dog thing on our site has caused no end of grief. Our site owner allows some but not all to have dogs. Divide & rule. keep us posted re. magnet
jacks - oh the money we have spent on remedies etc. Good job my memory keeps it all a bit of blur...
Bronnie - yantra mat? will check it out. Trouble is all insomnia can have different causes. Keep inspiring us with your exercising.
All others, not mentioned by name, hope you're sleeping better than I am.
Washing machine rumbling away. Good job I live alone. ;)Will peg it on the line when it finishes at about 2am. Mad mad woman!!"Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
Thanks for the welcome :j
I feel like I've found a support community
I've just woken up as usual in a pool of sweat. Good job I live alone!
As I said I kind of knew I was menopausal ~ only 3 periods in the past 2 years and I am 48 so it's obvious really!
I just thought periods, after going crazy for a couple of years, have become semi-non-existent ~ but never sure if I've had the last one yet PLUS hot flushes/night sweats
BUT.............
I had never attributed all the other stuff too
This thread has opened up a whole realisation about all the things I've been going through recently!
I've brought the laptop to bed to catch up on the posts on this thread. I'm listening to the weather chucking a mental outside.
My cats don't know whether they are coming or going when I throw the duvet off me then pull it back on when I've cooled off! I normally get back off to sleep about 4.30!
My sleep isn't helped by the fact I get up at 5 each morning for work. I leave the house at 5.30 for 6am start. I spend the whole day shattered then repeat the cycle....0 -
welcome to the new 'pausers its so nice that this thread has helped some people realise they arent going mad and theres a reason for all these weird things happening to them.
as we keep saying everyone suffers in a completely different way but i do get a bit frustrated with drs jus saying oh its your age, well hang on maybe it isnt maybe it is but they seem to use it as an excuse. same as when my back first got bad - oh its your weight, well i lost 8 stone and it got worse!! ok rant over sorry
had an idea whilst lying awake, u know these 4head things u can use on your forehead for headaches (poundland do a cheapo one) when u roll it on it goes cool. could use it when u get a hot sweat and it might help cool u - prob a mad idea but might be worth a try if u have one lying around
have a good day all

Morning hot friends:cheesy:
Sorry to hear about poor sleeps and hot bodies. Not nice at all.
Choille - glad the anxiety has eased - I think it is such a hard thing to deal with when it gets its grip. Sore feet - ha!! That's another thing I've had this year - sore when I get up in the morning. Never thought it could be a meno type thing. Also my sore elbow I suppose and other creaks.
Thanks for the 'well dones' for losing my stone. It was a bit of a shock to the system to find myself in that position as i've always been a lightweight to the point of real skinniness in earlier years - and suddenly here was me like a little (5ft3) apple barrel! Baaaad look. However, to keep at this weight I really have to watch what I eat for the first time.
Now, here's another new 'symptom' - my hair is such a mess! Washed in the morning, it is greasy by night - honestly. Sounds impossible but it is. And my forehead has been hit by an oil slick. This is not a good look! I will get some of those blotting paper things from B0dyshop but wonder if anyone has experienced the hair thing? My gut feeling is to keep with a gentle shampoo so as not to strip it (and it's highlighted so that should have helped keep it 'dry') and I usually use SLS free shampoo with the occasional head and shoulders for itchy scalp (really bad for colour though).
I'll be interested to hear what you think I should use on my oil pot head.
Off for more tea (vicar)
Have a good day all

My hair is ok at the moment. I have heard other people have a problem with oil though. That Mary on Xfactor looks like she is a sufferer though, looks like she's washed hers in Duckhams poor lass.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I'll be 50 next year.
Dogcat - glad your anxiety/panic attacks have eased too. I was the same with the almost feeling I was about to have a heart attack. I don't want those back.
Breath in and out... long breath out.... That should help.
YOur breath controls your mind- I suffered form awful panic attacks for years and the fear is almost worst than the attack itself. They are now under control. Breath is the key.0 -

this is so true. I often find 10 mins (yes, it seems a long time!) of slow deep breathing will really help getting to sleep."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -

Hi, I know just what you mean about the hair problem. My hair is getting very greasy. It has always been prone to limpness and grease but has only been getting greasy on the roots as I've got older but now its like I am back to a teenager again, I wash it and its greasy the same day. I am currently using Simple shampoo and on a recommendation on here I am going to try the Boots leave in thickening conditioner which is a spray. My hair is coloured but if I use shampoo for coloured hair I find it makes my hair greasy. I fancy using Head and Shoulders as I get an itchy scalp but then like you I worry about it stripping the colour.0 -
oh lord we have to worry about our hair too? mind u mine has been fine and limp since i was a kid so maybe i wont notice so much difference
just back from chiro/acupuncturist and feel worse now lol
luckily i dont get actual panic attacks but the anxiety over things i used to do without even thinking is just awful
lets all hope for a goods night sleep!!
