Ah Well Woman Centre. I should pay them a visit: the last time when I went there for a smear the nurse so SO lovely & talked me through things like breast cysts, risks of becoming an older mother (yes I was thinking about it from 2011 but have decided that as I don't have the funds & no don't have a partner I should just accept the inevitable), hormonal changes - physical & emotional etc. Visited GPs several times & the woman was worse than the men - younger woman (who said I should think myself lucky to have a BF of 13 years my junior)!0

Basically just try introducing ground linseed or flaxseed as it is also known into your diet. It has definately helped stop my hot flushes by about 90 %.0 -

Hi Lesley
I turned 40 just a couple of weeks ago. For the past 6 months my periods have been very irregular, longer than normal & sometimes only 2 weeks apart. I've had constant thrush & how shall I put this, things are drying up a bit. I've not had any flushes as such but I seem to be far less tolerant of the heat, even hubby lying next to me in bed is just too much ! After persisting with the doc she says it sounds like perimenopause and I have to go back tomorrow to get my hormone levels checked. She went so far as offering me HRT already, which I declined. I was rather surprised at that !
