Hi msgnomey - goodness, lots of sudden change for you! Hope you are feeling ok. Cheapest way to stay healthy during your recuperation/ change must be to get plenty of rest and sleep! Not always easy I know.
We've just had tea of roast chicken and loads of veg. Am stuffed but also managed a few squares of dark chocolate. Good iron hehehe.
Off to watch Strictly and wonder how they get the energy.

    Hi everyone,
Well didn't get to the allotment today...as it rained all last night...and most of today too!:(

Just stayed indoors and had a bit of a tidy...two of my daughters phoned up...first call was about 3 hours...the other an hour...so didn't get much tidying done either. Oh well....

Tonight I watched Downton Abbey...I love that programme.
Hope everyone has a good night...without too many problems.
    Nite Nite.

I'm envious of you having the allotment dogcat. I had to give mine up when I moved here. I'm on the waiting list, gawd knows how long it'll be before I get one here,

There's not much can beat a day on the lottie chatting to the friendly robin and brewing a cuppa for the lottie neighbours.

    Hi everyone,

Welcome to any newbies. Lovely to have you join in. :)

Sleep was v broken but got enough only because I was actually lying down for about 10hrs.

I too suffer from dry itchy skin. This time of yr gets really bad. I itch particularly when I go to bed for about 2hrs. I use Morrisons value baby lotion as soon as I start itching. It is quite runny but cool and v soothing. Stops it immediately. Also v cheap.:money: It doesn't actually help with real moisturisation but give temp. relief. I used to put non virgin olive oil on my skin which helped with dryness to some extent but I got fed up with it staining my clothes & smelling of oil.

Spending the morning doing some Avon work. (I'm an Avon [STRIKE]lady[/STRIKE] rep) It's the run up to Xmas & getting busy. I might even start writing out some xmas cards to my customers as I have so many to do.

Suns appeared & reflecting all golden on the oak tree opposite. Will walk later. :)

Hope you all have a good day. XXX

ive just been having a good read on some other websites, bearing in mind my mother started manpause at 40 and im 37,im flabbergasted at some of the symptoms that i have and that match,i was putting my irreg bleeding down to the fibroids and polyp, and yes that will be part of it. but.

    im losing tonnes of hair.
putting on weight, ive always been really skinny, not now it seems to be piling on.
waking up in the night and not being able to get back to sleep.
total loss of sex drive, yet i was a sex monster beforehand
    mood swings.
feeling really depressed and like rubbish all the time
    dry skin and dry hair.
    longer more frequent periods

so whats the score with getting a blood test done? i noted on other websites it says you have to go at a certain time to get the blood test one to check your hormone level is this right?
    It`s getting to the point

Lots of people who can empathise on our thread!!

Like you say, there's quite a lot of menopausal website info out there. Maybe this one will help with your blood test question

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi all, well I have taken some paracetomol today as the aching in my joints has been awful, it makes me feel really down and depressed and not well at all. The hot flushes also keep coming and going, plus the insominia, I just can't get off to sleep now for ages after my head hits the pillow.

My hair now needs washing every day like it did when I was a teenager but it is also fine and coloured and dry at the ends - any tips on what to use for menopausal hair?

sorry you're feeling so rotten. I 'wash' my hair using only conditioner (no 'cones' in the ingredients) as it's gentler than shampoo and stopped the itchy scalp I had. For the dry ends I'd recommend coconut oil. Just a little dab rubbed onto your palms and smoothed over the hair is wonderful. Makes it v soft & shiny.

Do hope you sleep better tonight. XXX

ooh itchy skin..like ants crawling all over you!! My daughter who is training to be a nurse told me about laser ablation...don't know if it would be helpful to anyone, it's done as day surgery at the hospital.
