    Morning ladies, lads and lurkers,

that extra hour went down well - not tonight though when i have to drive in the dark which i hate. i get all dazzled by those lights & there's usually someone getting up close & personal with my rear bumper.

bronnie i'll look out for snowdonia prog. i love all that social history. i read books about the old days all the time. :T thanks.

there's an interesting site which has a lot of meno sharings & info on. bit of a pagan slant to it, but offers the 'embrace it' kind of approach. here tis -.

    http://www.susunweed.com/bazaar.htm

oh, welcome vwelsh - good to have you join us.:D

i could set the clock by the flushes atm. very predictable and always after my shower. yuk! been taking soy isoflavines now for about 4 weeks. flushes possibly slightly improved. we'll see what happens when i stop it in a couple of weeks . too expensive.

the trees are looking gorgeous with vivid autumn golds and reds. my ms tip would be to save on those gym fees and exercise outside. there's something soothing & restful about just being with nature.

pls excuse 'text type' as having to find an easy way to type without hurting neck/back

    have a good day.:)

Morning all and welcome to new posters.

Yesterday was a good day for me as I kept busy all day. Nipped up to the library and changed my talking books then went into town.

In the new wilko's they have menopause vitamins for just unde £2. this compares well to Menopace which are a tad under £5. (not recommending anyone take either though)

the only thing I bought in the health food shop was some malt extract to make a fruit malt loaf in my breadmaker today.

Oh and a good find in a charity shop, an audio book for £3 :money:

So that's one of my jobs today plus a bit of touch up decorating. The sparky channelled out a bit of wall to add another socket when my kitchen was done. Since it's hidden behind the sofa, I hadn't got round to it. It just needs a bit of filler, rub down and then paint.

What's everyone else up to today?

I want to get through this without taking anything, my mother did it and hopefully so will I. I dont do medication, and dont want start now.

Had a dsiturbed night last night because of itching, I felt itchy everywhere, and couldnt settle, and for a couple of days I have had a really bad headache on and off so I suspect my sinusitis is flaring up again. Off to watch youngest DS play footie today, and then out for tea, then back in time for Xfactor results and Downton Abbey with a glass or two of wine, then bed.

Hope you are all ok, have a nice day.

    Hi folks.
Poet123 I went through a horrible spell of itching at night. This was a few months ago when i didn't know it could be part of the menopause. I had been eating a lot of yoghurts with sweeteners and had also changed from taking sugar in my tea (I know, I know) to sweeteners. Anyway, I wondered if it could be the sweetener, did a google search and it certainly causes itchy skin. So, cut down a lot and my itching has more or less gone. This is a dietary thing, not medical advice. Just seemed so obvious to me once I thought it through. I'd also been eating loads more fruit so i suppose my sugar intake had increased quite a lot. Itching is horrible though, so i hope it eases for you.
Anyone have any good MSE tips for the change in skin? The skin on my arms and legs has gone really dry. This happened this autumn when the periods stopped. Just seemed like overnight! It seems more creased if you wrinkle it - does anyone know what I mean? Like it has aged enormously! I use oils and body butters as moisturisers - love body butters but suspect pure oil might be the way to go. Anyone try olive oil or a nut oil? I suppose this is also the time to treat from inside out, so evening primrose oil, which I take anyway, but cooking more with good olive oil etc.
Well, the sun is shining out there and the park looks glorious in the autumn sunshine. I'm off to wrap up and head out for a walk along by the sea with DH and doggies.

wmf just a thought but u drink much water? i find if i dont drink a lot i get dehydrated quickly, possibly to do with the extra heat we generate. possibly drinking more will improve the skin 'bounce'. i use a lotion most days and if i have a bath i put some drops of oil in the water whilst i soak. nothing posh just good old cheap supermarket baby oil will do

yesterday was a complete pain involving car tyres, being late, ex husbands etc etc so guess no wonder i had a migraine!!

still today WILL be better and will involve the indian buffet, laying in bed and reading a book

I have been using No 7 Protect and Perfect for the last 4 years (just before it was featured on Panorama) They also do one for the body as well as the face.

Best bought when they have their 3 for 2 offers :money:

thanks shykins and spirit - firstly my skin is always so much better when i drink enough water and I usually forget to. So....will post self reminders to drink more. seems so obvious but i always forget it. I love the Protect facila serum and have a little bottle - or maybe i used it all up. See my memory? Anyway, I didn't know they did one for the body as well. Worth looking out and I still have my double points voucher to use so will wait until i do a big B00ts shop. Re oil in bath - good idea. I'm more of a shower person these days but will do this.
Have had lovely walk by sea - feel refreshed. Lovely to feel the sun of my face. Went into L$dl and got some bargainous veg so will have loads with my Sunday dinner - when i decide what it is ...

you can use baby oil in the shower too you know, just be careful not to slip as it does make the shower tray slippery!! I usually squirt a small amount onto my sponge after I have washed and the rub it all over my skin, it feels lovely!!

Hello everyone. I am 43 and am currently post op having had a TAH and BSO 23 days ago so hello menopause!! Looking for some cheap ways to stay healthy during this difficult time!!
