Yes, but in this case they are not in a position to demand perfectness from their customers. This was the point of MJ that I agree to.

And no, I have never been late and have never lost any cashback.

'Demand perfectness' ? I did not get the point ... but then I don't understand you know who and don't give a monkey's ...

That is your experience, it does not follow everyone thinks its 'pathetic' excuses, sometimes companies do have problems doing what they are meant to do. You take a risk by entering a cashback deal - that risk either you making a mess of things or the other party not delivering. Yeah 28 days is what they say but all companies can have 'issues' now and then - no point whining about it unless its excessive delay as was the case last year Oct/Nov.
Needless to say I think they are pathetic excuses. Lets be honest about it we've heard them all from this company in the past haven't we ...Dust clouds, Swine Flu, train strikes, Royal Mail strikes, floods, major disasters etc etc in fact you name it they've used it.

This buisiness of cheques has been going on for some months now they were even bouncing cheques if you remember ..it's been brought up many times on here and on their own Facebook page
The coincidence in timing since CPW had to shut down their Best Buy venture after losing £47m making hundreds redundant ..wasn't that about Oct Nov last year ?

    hullo moneysavers!

just put in my first claim this week for cashback with mobiles.co.uk.

sent my bill (and a little covering letter, and copy of invoice showing deal i was on) 1st class recorded delivery on wednesday. it was delivered thursday, and received a text today, and email confirmation of my claim being 'successfully processed' and that a cheque 'should be with you within the next 28 days'.

from all the reading from this post, i was expecting the worst. but will wait and see when this cheque finally arrives fingers crossed!
  • I just emailed their customer services (on a Sunday!) to clarify the cashback months they required from me, and they replied within 2.5 hours telling me precisely what I needed to know!

    (Quoting their cashback guidelines)
"The month you purchased your handset will be month 'Zero'. Month 'One' is your first full billed month"

The first sentence (highlighted) is the only part that matters; the 2nd sentence should be ignored as it can appear to contradict the first sentence if you purchase before the regular billing date of your carrier. (In my case I purchased on the 3rd, and received a full bill two days later on the 5th.)
  • Just received my seventh cheque today. Had no issues whatsoever. As long as you stick to the terms and conditions you agreed to at the start of your contract you'll have no issues!

A very bold statement when they don't always stick to them! My "issues" recently include several points VERY close to issuing proceedings. The fact that they have (eventually) capitulated is only because I forced issues with them.

MOST of the time you will have no problems; however, whilst you've had 7 cheques I deal with dozens - and issues there most definitely have been!

As with all cashback dealers, complacency is an extremely unwise option.

One counter-example can prove that the rule is false.
One example cannot prove that the rule is true.

    Primitive logic....
