    Thank you.

I'll get my order placed today. I just hope the contract start date is today and not tomorrow (1st of the month).

    Thanks

    Order now placed :)
  • Has the company gone bust?
If you do a company status check on companieshouse.gov.uk (Do a web check by either the name : mobiles.co.uk or 06320783), the status is Liquidation!
Also, I had purchased two phones last yr from them, haven't received any cashback on them - which was not the case earlier as I did receive cashback 2 years back (in 2010).
Phone number is never reachable - tried both 0844 543 0441 as well as 01923 80 4444. Latter one gets cut straight away and the 0844 number doesnt give any option except for automated messages.
What options do I have now - approach court?

It isn't a "company" - it used to be, now no longer!

Now it's a trading name of the carphone warehouse.

Go for a letter before action, then if they ignore it, MCOL

    Well, their website still says:
In 2007 Mobiles.co.uk were acquired by The Carphone Warehouse Group, Europe's leading mobile phone retailer. Since then we have remained an independently run company. As a wholly owned subsidiary of CPW, we are able to offer the best deals around and provide the same great service to our customers.

So they lie. How many lies can you count in this sentence?:
As a wholly owned subsidiary of CPW, we are able to offer the best deals around and provide the same great service to our customers.

The "company" called mobiles.co.uk has been liquidated. They don't offer the best deals around. Their customers don't get "great service". There's 3 for starters.

    I count only one (possible).
Some of their deals are the best around (ignoring numerous scam companies). Do you expect all deals to be?
Regarding the 'great service' it's a meaningless common place for all companies with very rare exceptions. Also, they say "the same great service" (as CPW), that just proves your point if they really are just a trading name of CPW.

Totally agree! try reaching them through phone - it just keeps on going in loops and there is no way you could speak to a human on the other side..only automated messages!

had received an email confirmation from them way back in Sep that my claim has been approved - but am still to receive the cheque for that!

I don't have any point to prove.

Mobiles.co.uk has been liquidated as a company in its own right. Companies house would be in big trouble if they marked an active "company" as being in liquidation!

I don't know if there is any difference between "Liquidation" and "Liquidated", but if you insist that they are CPW in fact, then you cannot count "the same great service" as a lie. It probably is not great (this is a personal opinion), but it is the same.

    Just being pedantic.
