Similar issues here, no initial approval SMS, chased at beginning of Jan, told cheque raised on 28th Dec, not received cheque so chased again, now been told there was a problem with my cheque raised on 28th Dec and that the issue has now been corrected, but I have to wait up to a further 28 days for the cheque... sounds like a shambles! Debating about whether to give them the 28 days or take further action now...
Well decided to give them a few more days, and finally cheque arrived today....

Sent LBA to Legal dept, London, on 31st Jan. Received a cheque today dated 30th Jan.
  • Finally received my cheque dated 30th Jan 2012. It has taken exactly 3 months because it's that time again to submit my next claim. =,= Hope it'll be a faster process this time round!

Things are not quite as sinisiter as some would have us believe. Glad to report back some positivity:

Had another cheque through very quickly:

    Claimed 16th Jan, online.
    Cheque received 3rd Feb.

Just from observing this thread, I would like to agree with you, except for the few posts that indicated bounced cheques. That's an area that would worry me if I was waiting for a cashback.

Having said that, I got the cashbacks I expected within the vendor's elastic timescales.

Fair point, indeed. And I sincerely hope that those few cases were down to ineptitude rather than anything intentional.

Just claimed my 5th out of 6 cashback claims and their claim systems appear to have been sorted out. All had been OK until my November Claim when I had to chase it and didn't get email confirmation, did get text confirmation instead.

This time, so far, normal process seems to have been resumed, Claimed online via website on Thursday PM, got immediate email confirming claim received, Friday PM email cashback approved and should receive cheque within 28 days.

As always won't assume anything until cheque is safely in my bank account.

I successfully claimed two cheques last year. Both claims approved the same day, and the cheque arrived in a couple of weeks.

My claim last month, however, took the full 10 days to be approved, and now the 28 days for the cheque to arrive have passed. But just this morning they e-mailed to say there's an issue with cheque printing, and not to worry as it'll be with me shortly. If they are having problems, it's doesn't seem unreasonable - at least they contacted me to let me know.

I know many people aren't happy with Carphone Warehouse's customer services, but the fact that a big name backs mobiles.co.uk gave me the confidence to go for the cashback deal. I wouldn't be comfortable risking £450 with a small, unknown company I know nothing about other than their website address, and which could disappear overnight leaving me to pay for the contract.
